Have you spilled any kinda liquid like soda or milk or tea ect,ect on laptop.:confused

If you have spilled any kinda liquid it could be a hardware problem.

Have you tested your head phones to see if you are still getting the crackling.:confused

If not then try this go and completely uninstall your driver for your audio. All files and folders and even the registry.Don't forget to check in your %appdata% folder as well.

Then go here-->http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19/product/vostro-1000 and reinstall a fresh copy of the driver from dell.

Does this happen on all audio.??

You all so might be having a disk read error as well go to start then run type cmd then in cmd type--> Chkdsk let it do its thing than report back.

Didn`t spill anything. Audio distorts when headphones are in too. All audio? yes.

Did the part highlighted above so far only, & this came up.

Double click on your My Computer then in my computer Right click on Local Disk C then in properties then on tools where you see Error-checking click on Check Now then in the new pop up tick the automatically fix file system error and scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors.Click start then restart system.

Okay I did this. It took a LONG time though. Audio problem still there.

Did your idea about uninstalling audio, and re installing. Audio sounds WAY better, but still minimal distortions that are really irritating. BTW since sound problem, computer has been (and still) running slower than usual too. Wtf??? Any other ideas please, I really want to get to the bottom of this.

I would start bye doing a full system scan.

READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide
    http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=35407

Then after all scans are done go to the malware fourms and post the logs bye using the attachments option. Then come back when they say its all clear.

    Greetings, rrdjfan777.

Shot in the dark but one simple thing you might try is to check your volume controls, make sure that any sliders are not set at 100% which might be overdriving your speakers. Pull everything back to around 90% to see if your symptoms change.

Malware is not the problem causing my audio issue, they say its clear as you can see here:

So any more ideas on how to fix my problem? There must be something, I`m about to go mad if I don`t fix this problem cause as a musician & Youtuber this is driving me nuts. Heres a 20ish sec clip giving you another idea of what my audio distortion too:

Its weird, I had this exact same problem last year, exact same sounding distortion too, but last year updating audio drivers did the trick tho ugghh this frustrating.

    Good morning.

Is it safe to assume that all of your audio and video drivers are up to date?

You might also try running the DPC Latency Checker - might shed some light on what's causing any streaming dropouts.

I attached the report file, but it didn`t solve my problem. and it directed me to a online center thats been discontinued.
