I've lost faith in humanity

Ok so I followed a genius today that had a license plate frame that said, "A Women's Place is Behind a Hot Iron"

I'm sure they meant it to be funny, such as maybe the driver was a woman golfer.

But seriously, how can you hold your head high and live with yourself driving around with something that is very telling about your lack of ability with the English language?

I'm not telling people what the problem is to see if they too fall for it.

Hell, I take my wife everywhere but she keeps finding her way home. :confused

 

That person would have been very, very disappointed in me because I don't/can't/won't iron. :-D

I am noticing more and more people in my life are negative.

Being negative isn't fun and leads to "bad" stuff happening in life.

That's why I'd assume things when I get cut off, someone bumps into me, or if they don't hold the door for a second to allow me to grab it.
If I was driving and I saw that plate, Id assume things and laugh about it.
Such as:


Perhaps the person driving speaks English as a second language?
Perhaps the person thought the "humor" of the message was too good to pass up despite the error in it.
Perhaps I can go write a post about it and someone will help me find less stressful ways to view life.

I didn't notice it right away, but yea, it's Plural when it should be Singular.

And it's printed or embossed on a metal frame. LOL

If you look around, you'll find stuff like that everywhere.

Even if the person driving was speaking a english as a second language, I doubt they were the one who built the frame If they want to make fun of themselves and announce to the world that they aren't very smart, then hey, mission accomplished!

Let me ask you, do you find life stressful? Because there was no stress in this thread.

 

Strike while the iron is hot. Or the driver is having too many hot irons in the fire to notice the misspelling.

 

the tone of your post came off as stressful, definitely not a, "hey, I saw the funniest thing today! You will get a kick out of this!" type post.... if you say its not stressful, ok then

Right, that was a thought I had as well, which is why I said:

I just had cataract surgery and Im still recovering from a brain injury/coma that took me out of medical school so sure life is always throwing stuff at me, but I keep my head up and I think positive thoughts, and I gave you some advice about trying to be more positive

I've found over the years that frequently it really depends on mechanical aptitude. Some of the smartest people I know couldn't find their behind with both hands in the dark.

It often seems like an inverse proportion when it comes to intelligence. There are people who are really smart at one thing, but lack in many "common sense" areas. You can be the smartest person on the planet when it comes to whatever, but I'll take being "well rounded" any day.

 

I was at the gym (a well known, very popular gym), with a friend, and as we were entering the ladies locker room I noticed the sign on the wall that said:

Ladie's locker room.

I was like really? This is a huge nationwide gym, can't they afford proofreaders? Anywhere?? the sad part was when I pointed it out that it was grammatically incorrect, my friend said "it is?" http://i800.photobucket.com/albums/yy290/lotzasmilies/doh.gif


The funny part is the next time I went back the sign was fixed, so someone must have overheard me. :-D

The mens locker at my gym has a bathroom(2 urinals,2 stalls)
the bathroom has a door you pull/push to enter the bathroom...
the sink(5 sinks) are next to the bathroom, through the DOOR

long ago, I asked a gym punk,"why is there a door? you must touch the door when you havent washed your hands?
he told me
"you will go wash your hands right after, so its ok,
besides, the handle is made of stainless steel, which doesnt get germs on it"

There is a difference between a misspelled words(or having dysarthria, as I do from my brain injury) and having the content of what you express being so moronic.
