Shipping Package Overkill

Normally, I am all up on some overkill when it comes to toys. But, today had me a bit floored. I got a box in the mail, looked at it, and figured my gag gift tactical Xmas stocking had arrived. Until I picked it up. WTF?

I ordered 4 screws, and 4 bushings for the 1/4" screws to screw into. And they sent it in a box, with the air padding...

Picts show it well, 12 oz beer for scale. :-D Of course, they could have dropped this box from 10k feet, and the contents would not have been damaged. Just thought this was funny. :-D

 

LoL! At least you didn't order a T.V. they would have needed a Prime-mover to transport it!:-D
(Yeah!, yeah!, I know ya don't watch/have T.V.

 

They probably would have sent one of those Boeing Dream Lifters to deliver it. :-D

 

Who did you ship with fedex or ups or postal.

 

Good old USPS.

Kinda lost there, USPS was the cheapest shipping option.

And, I don't have a problem, just found it amusing that they shipped that tiny package in a box...

The real question is where is my tactical gag gift Xmas stocking...

 

Goldenskull, I think you've gotten a bit confused. The package was sent to Fred_G via USPS, not Fred sending the package via USPS.

 

G.S.:- The over-use of packaging was caused by whoever sent it, not the fault of the carrier service.

 

Yeah, I would have put it in a padded envelope and sent it out in the mail... I mean this was almost small enough to email. :-D

 

That's one of my pet peeves, over packing until the tiny thing I've ordered no longer fits through the letter box, especially if they then put a note through the door saying they've been but I wasn't home and I've got to go 4-5 miles to the nearest postal sorting office to collect.
