    I have/had AVG on my previous PC and prefer it to Avast!

    • What errors do you get when you try to download it then?
    • What browser(s) have you used to try and download it?
    • Have you tried downloading it from another PC and transferring to flashdrive to then install on your machine?

    Are you sure that you are talking about a downloading problem???? Sounds to me and like you are installing it not downloading.

    Also Avast should be uninstalled before you install AVG.

    Dear Chaslang! Please excuse my 78 year old brain. You are quite correct! I can download, but not install, also I cannot down load or install IE! Thank you for your assistance and perserverance to an old ballie!

    You're welcome.

    Why do you need to download and install IE? It is on every Windows PC by default. In this case is it terminology again? Are you really referring to a problem with Windows Update trying to update your version of IE?

    If you are suspecting malware problems, you still need to run what Kestrel13! posted in message # 2. Until you do that, we really cannot offer you much guidance.
