S4 catches fire, Samsung tries to silence customer

I stumbled across this today and all I can say is wow. I can't imagine what I would do if my phone caught fire from me trying to charge and then the company telling me they would only replace it if I hushed about what happened. Way to go Samsung, you really shot yourself in the foot over this one.

However, in a pretty smart business move is Nokia offering this guy a Lumia for free.


I love my Windows Phone and also Nokia, so if I were in the market for a new Windows phone, I'd totally go for the Nokia.

I tried to edit but ran out of time..

As a disclaimer - I haven't watched either video with the article, so I don't know if there is language in them.. I guess watch with caution if you're at work or something :-D

Thanks for this as my son has a new Samsung S4 and will be very interested

Meanwhile I will keep using my BB Torch... might be old but it has been very reliable and still does everything I need

BTW Language warning in link. One f word in the first Samsung video and a bulls**t plus several f words in the second Samsung video on the same page relating to the letter Samsung sent

Ahh, thanks (and thanks to whoever changed the title). I thought of it after I posted as I don't usually watch the videos but just read the articles. Didn't want anyone to get in trouble.

Has Samsung heard of social media? This might have worked 20 years ago, but really? Technology anyone? Is Samsung on the the medical marijuana? :-D

Plus, could they not agree to Samsung's conditions, and have their friend make a video about a friend's phone catching on fire...

 

Regardless of the bad business sense, they wanted to hush up a potential incendiary grenade.:confused
