Probably Sutter Home juice. The folks you link to is a common thing. Many French (and American) growers sell the juice or sell the wine, you print your own label.

Few standard grape varietals will grow in Louisiana due to the humidity. :cool

Just FYI Willie Robertson was on the Outdoor Channel before Duck Dynasty and has had the beard for years, as have the other family members, so the beard was not grown for the show. I personally don't watch much TV but I know lots of people who like to watch Duck Dynasty.

Yes, I think you have to plan a beard like they have... :-D The Duck Commander calls have been sold for a long time, and they have been on TV a long time in hunting shows.

I watch a ton of tv, but only educational things where I can learn something, but thats just me, personally.;)

I don't know anyone who watches Ducks, Teen Mom, jersery shore, arent those all pretty much the same show?

I see just enough TV when I go out of town to know I don't need that stuff in my daily life. No TV here. :-D

    what stuff
    educational stuff?
or teen mom/grit her done stuff?

what about funny stuff? laughing does so much to help relieve stress(and stress causes so many diseases)

generalizing tv to not watch any tv is pretty silly as watching a ton of tv

I own a tivo and a friend of mine said she'd get a dvr, but her family just doesnt watch that much tv
the facts about how dvr(is a VCR) saves you time no matter how little tv didnt make sense to her.

BRB, gotta see what kim is doing(not on tv, TV IS DUMB, )
I read all her tweets! :-D

You like it, watch it. Not all shows are bad, but in general, I don't think I am missing anything. :-D

I am not trying to take your TV away from you. Just my choice not to watch one.

Here is something from The Learning Channel... http://www.tlc.com/tv-shows/here-comes-honey-boo-boo

You are missing stuff from not watching TV, but Im not missing anything by watching tv

even some shows on TLC/NGC seem like they'd be worth watching(stuff about the universe) but the shows are so poorly done. While others, like one I saw about ants, are so well done.

watching tv is like eating food. You dont have to gain weight when you eat at mcdonalds, it depends what you choose.
but if you can't make good choices, then perhaps you should do something else, But reading Harry Potter books isnt always a better choice, depends what you are missing.
This is why I own a DVR, so I can pick and choose what to watch.
    :-D

I just made a cheaper and more uniform choice. As far as your food analogy, some animals eat their own poop. :-D I don't read Harry Potter books.

Enjoy your TV. Get cable and satellite, use your DVR, heck get 2 or three of them. Just not for me.

hey not watching tv is a cheap choice yes. Im not sure what you mean by a "uniform choice"?

    u·ni·form
    ˈyo͞onəˌfôrm/Submit

not changing in form or character; remaining the same in all cases and at all times.
"blocks of stone of uniform size"
synonyms: constant, consistent, steady, invariable, unvarying, unfluctuating, unchanging, stable, static, regular, fixed, even, equal

In other words, instead of picking and choosing which television programs to watch, he simply does not watch television.

    thanks!
now it all makes sense to me. It is much easier to make a uniform choice than to find what fits. I do the same way with eating, so I do understand.

What I'm curious about is, if someone watches no tv, what are they doing with all the free time?
I used to know a guy who always talked about how he watched no tv, yet it turned out her DLd and steamed tons of torrents/tv/movie from online.
I believe that would be considered watching tv.
    He disagreed.
    Logic doesnt always prevail.

I can't say that I don't watch any television, but I do watch very little (news, hockey, football)...and my days are completely full even though I am currently on medical leave from work (which gives me an additional 60 or so hours a week to fill). I read. I visit various forums, Facebook, and play a few games. I cook. I stream movies to my laptop (which is not the same as watching TV, as they are movies, but I can see where you would consider them to be so...I don't stream TV shows, though). I clean. I do laundry. I go out with friends or relatives. I talk on the phone. I make jewelry. I visit about 50-75 websites per day to gather content to write about for the site where I work (reblogging, mostly).

Whenever I'm off work for a while, I can never figure out how I had time to go there, and it takes me a while to get back into having that many less hours in a day. But I pretty much never wonder what to do if the TV isn't on...and my TV is typically only on if someone else wants it to be. If I'm home alone, it simply doesn't occur to me to watch it.

    That's how I use tv/netflix.
I pick a movie to watch and enjoy it, or if I have less time, I pick a TV show/
I rarely flip around channels,(gotta program DVR) but everything I watch is the same as you, pre-recorded.
I watch programs when I am walking on the treadmill in front of my TV. So even when I watch TV, Im both learning something, laughing at something, and working out.

  17. Sgt. Tibbs

The difference here is that you make an effort to watch TV on a regular basis. Me, if someone else doesn't turn it on or if there isn't a game I want to see, I can go days without seeing it. I don't budget my time around watching something, but I'm guessing you spend a great deal of time in front of the screen, based purely on your screen name.

And as Fred has said repeatedly, good for you! You are allowed to make that choice. But I see no point in arguing with others that they need to make the same choice for themselves. Many folks don't.

Thank you Sgt. Tibbs. Sums it up perfectly.

Watchingtv, I do miss a few shows on TV, but over the last 30 years, I feel that overall TV programing has gone way down, culturally, spiritually, and morally. I choose not to participate in it.

Sure, if I could pick and choose the exact channels I could get, I might get 4 or 5 of them, and watch a little TV. I rarely go to movies, think going once every 10 years or so. I don't support Hollywood, and I don't support the TV industry. My choice. I do vote with my dollars, but I don't have the time or desire to go stand out in front of a TV station with a hand made sign and complain.

Ah, whatever the heck I want to do that is legal? If I had not been hurt in a wreck, I would have been at a friend's house helping him paint it this weekend. I like to take the dog for a walk, read a book, research something I had never heard of. Heck, sometimes I chat with friends, clean the house. In no way do I feel 'deprived' because I choose not to watch TV.

Just a suggestion for you, go for a drive down a road you have never been on. Watch a sunset, or sunrise with your preferred beverage. Learn to shoot a gun, go hunting with a gun or a camera. There is much to do outside of the talking picture box.

No offense meant to you Watchintv. That is the beauty of a free country. We can do what we want with our free time. :major

To each their own. Never seen Duck Dynasty and am not inclined to start following it either. I just do not *reality* shows.

Why would I take offense? I dont think you have been reading well, misspelling my name twice is a sign as well as the content of your post.
Why did you give me suggestions?
I have done all of those things, I use TV as a tool; at night when I get bored or too tired to do much else.
As I noted earlier, I have a treadmill in front of my TV, so I use them together.
Ive learned though, that there is much to learn from TV also.
You just have to pick what you watch and absorb whats useful to you.

You dont go to the movies? Well, that's a fun experience when you go with family/friends. Maybe try it so often its fun, They have coupons or cheap shows. even a Dollar theatre is fun.

My screenname isnt because I live with a tv in every room, watch the same show as I go from the living room-->kitchen-->bathroom,(as the cable commerical implies you should do) The nameis from a high school email address I had(aol) and have now.(gmail)

watchntv is what what I use on all my forums, since its my email.
I once had a boss who learned of my email told me to "get out more". His email was Twin9mmm or some gun related name.

I was also in an accident, I was a passenger in a jeep that rolled leaving me in a coma. Had I not been in that coma, I would have finished medical school, would not still be trying to put my life together, might have some friends my age, and wouldnt be learning to walk again.(which is why I have a treadmill in front of my TV)
Its sad that I can use a computer and see what my life woulda have been(via facebook of my med school friends)but that's life. Usually a choose your own adventure, but sometimes, the choice gets made for you. you just have to deal or resign.....:p

Make an effort to watch TV? nope, I use TV as a tool. effort to watch tv? really? budget time around tv? i'm lost, you know you can buy a DVR or a VCR, right?

Nope, the name came from high school joke I had, so I've had since high school, least the "watchntv" part. :-D

I haven't owned a TV, in probably a decade. What do I do with my free time?

I read, a lot, (mostly non-fiction but some fiction), I study as much as I can get my hands on, I try new baking/cooking recipes, I make jewelry (or other crafts), I blog about my food experiences, I play board games with my family, I take random road trips, I go to church functions, I hang with my friends, sometimes we eat and talk ourselves silly and sometimes we play pool/mini golf/bowling.

We might occasionally watch a movie but usually we are busy having too much fun to be saddled down in front of a tube.

  23. watchntv

Interesting look on tv. Saddled down? TV is a tool, same as a shovel or a computer.
But, like food, it can be addicting to pick the wrong choices or over indulge on the "right" choices.

I do most of the stuff you mention and somehow watch TV, and average 12miles/day walking while watching TV.

The few that I have watched had a strange lack of reality. Maybe they should rename the genre. :-D

Again, sorry I misspelled your name. It is not easy for me to spell. I do text, but am a bit older, and tend to spell names out. My problem, not yours.:-D
