Normally, I have no issue with this, but I can't figure out how to disable this pop up which is not really a pop up.

Because this is the recipe I'm making tonight for dinner :)-D), I'll use this link:

    http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/giada-de-laurentiis/onion-soup-with-fontina-and-thyme-recipe.html

Scroll to the bottom of the page and you'll see a black thing come up out of the bottom of the screen.

I've tried getting rid of it using AdBlock plus and that didn't work.

Does anyone have any clue? Its just annoying when I'm looking through stuff and I want to make it go away.

Yep...that's the one. Its a way for the to suggest other things on the site, so I guess it's not technically an ad, but I want to get rid of it. I right clicked it and adblock plus gives me the option to block something in it, but it doesn't disable the 'feature'.

I'm wondering if I need a script block addon to block it. If so, I guess I'll live with it. I was just hoping to disable it some way.

I just looked through their Help section, no dice there...

If you go to that page, go all the way to bottom in the Site Map section there is a link that says Ad Choices, mine are all turned off but it still shows up, maybe I missed something if you want to check there...

Otherwise I think yea it is just a site feature ya gotta live with, I cant find a setting to disable it.

You could try Contacting them maybe?

Yeah, I saw that. I opted out of the data collection and block third party cookies...plus with adblock plus, there's no ads on my pages anyway.

I'm thinking you're right and its not worth the time to contact them to just have them tell me its a feature for us to enjoy.

I'm sure there's some script blocking I could do.

Maybe someone will have something for me. If not, it's really not a huge deal, just annoying.

    Thanks. :)

Laura, it seems to be a Script thingy.

I use the NoScript extension and when visiting the site I didn't see the popup *black box* at the bottom. When I turned NoScript off the black box with *Easy Holiday Appetizers* appeared on the bottom left.

    Yummy. Recipe sounds delicious.

Thanks oma.:) I don't use noscript since I found it to be obtrusive when I tried it. Maybe I'll add it on and see if I can adjust settings to my liking.

(I'm trying this recipe for the first time, but so far so yummy. I've discovered I love Fontina cheese LOL)

While using NoScript is a bit cumbersome sometimes, it also has anti-XSS and anti-Clickjacking protection. If a website is fully trusted script can be temporarily or permanently allowed.

I have read that it can do a lot more than what I use it for but way too complicated for me but wouldn't surf without it.

Don't think that I've ever used Fontina cheese or if it is available here.

Which browser are you using? I used firefox and if you right click on the little banner and hit inspect element and then delete each of the nodes it gets rid of it while you're on the page but as soon as you leave and then go back it's back again...would be a good script if someone could automate that procedure...
