When ran ADFF to delete (and it did) duplicate files from a directory on an external HD, with non-compressed backups on it, some programs (Handything, AdobeAcrobat8, not yet sure what else) on PC were 'disabled' and had to reinstall.
Had to delete AA8 from /ProgramFiles (with Unlocker), as CP would not let delete.
Still trying to reinstall AA8 !
    Get Windows Installer 'error'...
Thoughts... maybe on both problems, ADFF & AA8 ?
Not going to use ADFF for a while, thats for sure ! rolleyes

Have you tried reinstalling the Windows Installer? Google "[your OS] download Windows Installer". You could also run a SFC /scannow if you have an installation disk of the operating system...

    Thanks for the reply.
I did a 'system restore', was then able to reinstall AA8, and all seems ok (so far) but am obviously concerned about using ADFF.
I did read various posts about how dup file finders may be a risk, but this seems to be over the top, especially since this file-findr was at an EHD.
Is there safe/free DFFr... MG has ADFF for download, so I would think it to be safe, but my experience doesnt seem to support that. :confused
    Thoughts ?
