Need Reco: PCI Express [not x] card 2.0/2.1?

guys - anyone know of a solid, reliable, cool-running vid card for an older machine that hath no x16 slots? only PCIe. older dell dimension I assume it is like pci express 1.1 or thereabouts

What model of Dell Dimension is it (4500S, XPS, etc.)?

 

thank you for asking. especially since I later found out I was dead wrong.
there are NO 'e' slots. Just old PCI. PCI-nothing. no agp, no x, no 'e'

its a dimension 3000. one would think that the video driver for the onboard would at LEAST accommodate ubiquitous 1366x768 but apparently not unless there is a secondary source for such. so I'm stuck spending money [someone elses money to be exact]

The GeForce card gman863 links you to looks like a good deal. I spent that much on a Quadro FX Go 1400 for my Dell Precision M70.

But I would still go to the Dell Support site, enter the Service Tag number and check the drivers and downloads.

I've used the EVGA card I posted to upgrade a few older Pentium 4 Dells over the past few years. So far, so good - I haven't had any customer callbacks or DOA issues.

 

scored one new, in the box on ebay for 36.
appreciate the tip. this will give them a little longer b4 having to replace an aging but functional seat.
