I use a new desktop with Win7, a solid state drive, and two external Lacie hard drives for back ups.
I am looking at using the built in Win7 backup program. I haven't found one, but I want a way to assign names to the backups I do. Is there a way to do this?
    Thanks,
    Ray

Thanks. That's what I wanted to know, though I suspected. I'll just stick with the standalone program I use.

The latest backup will always be named WindowsImageBackup and there isn't anything you can do about that as that is the name the backup program looks for when you need to do an image restore. However, if you want to retain more than one image then you can rename the file to anything you want, but if you need to restore that image you will first have to rename it to WindowsImageBackup again. That might be a bit of a problem if the computer isn't working normally rolleyes

My advice would be to forget all about the inbuilt backup sytem and use Macrium Reflect free edition.

Thanks for the info. System works fine, but the 'fix' is more than I want to do. So I'll follow up your suggestion.
