I have created an MKV file (50 min.) with hard-subs using
Xvid 4PSP 6.0, it plays fine on VLC... I have tried twice using DVD flick to burn this film to a DVD (on equipment which has never posed a problem, Thinkpad, XP, Buffalo writer) but the result is only a sound track, no image on the disk. What am I doing wrong please?

From personal use I know that DVDFlick doesn't handle MKV videos. So, what you might want to try is first converting your MKV file to an AVI using this program

    http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/any_video_converter.html

Then use DVDFlick to render the AVI file created to a DVD.

If you have the paid program ConvertXtoDVD that program will do it all in one step.

Thank you, that is clear enough... The funny thing is I found that programme because it "advertised" (Google) as handling just that operation. Well, we live and learn!

The MKV file is a wrapper for a video stream, audio stream(s) and subtitles. DVD Flick will process MKV videos if the video and audio streams use a supported codec.
