I had to file an extension, my tax guy was busy with some personal stuff...:(

Everyone have fun and pay the gubment, or will you get a 'refund'? I have never filed an extension, but apparently, I can loaf until October 15'th now.

We got ours in and have already gotten our refund. :-D It was most welcome.

We've never filed an extension but my dad did pretty much every year for some reason. If you owe any taxes, you have to pay them on time though. I'm assuming your tax guy told you that.

I always get a refund, but this year it was huge. Turns out when your medical expenses amount to 43% of the gross income, plus you run a home-based hobby/business with more expenses than income, you get a whole crap-ton of money back. LOL

Yup, my tax guy is great.

Not to get too HBT, but what if everyone kept all their money all throughout the year, then had to write, or not write, the IRS a check for their taxes on April 15, including SS, workman's comp...

I quite frankly would be screwed. The reason I get a refund every year is I do not trust myself to actually put money away. If I have a little extra on my check, odds are really good I'm gonna buy something a little extra.

Workers' comp isn't taxable, by the way. ;)

Good point, I meant unemployment and the other various taxes that are withheld. I am not a tax expert.;)

What if you kept that money and invested it for 10 years at 10%, buy you something really nice.

    Maybe an Ed Brown...http://www.edbrown.com/customhandguns.htm

In theory, that'd be great. But I know myself better than to think I'd actually do it. I've had investments for over 15 years, to which I have added exactly not one dime since I opened them with an inheritance check. Even when I don't have something wrong medically (which has been pretty constant for the last nine years), I don't make enough to put anything away.

And I've heard the "even $5 a week helps" argument. Whatever. ;)

Hey, to each their own I say! I have a little 401K tossed into an IRA, can't decide if I should invest it or lose a ton, and have a good summer... Going to be responsible, and keep it where it is, or invest it. Dang it, could have some fun with this cash...:-D

Wife does our taxes and sent in the mail today.

Another prayer that theyll take payments on the additional 5k they want again this year.

So much for claiming zero and getting money back. lol

The only good thing about selling so little product is mine still qualifies as a hobby rather than an actual business. Otherwise I'd be worried about that, too.

I like Fred did an extension...miserable reason

I lost my desktop hard drive and could not find the legal copy of Win7 after the replacement arrived. I have reinstalled Linux in 4 flavors about 10 times in this last 2 weeks (don't you love upgrades to NVIDIA?)....I found TurboTax online does zero for you if you have Linux......

Headed to WalMart today to plunk down 79.95 and fight the infor back into the forms.
