Well this is neat.

I was on a random video streak on YouTube and came across this.
It's a beautiful wooden computer case.I'm a hobbyist wood worker and I love stuff like this. I don't know anything about this other than what is stated in the video.

Here's a year later update..

I have yet to even look at the plans but from the videos I may try this at some point for the sake of doing it.

I contemplated making a wooden case when I built my watercooled i7 PC but after drawing up the design in CAD, I finally decided it was going to be too much trouble. The reality was that I would probably build it enough to use the pc but never fully complete the project so I bought an Antec 1200 case instead.
The wooden case would have looked cool :cool

 

I did some looking at that guys other videos and he's made some other really need things out of wood. EX: a bench vice, a clamp using rebar, a folding pocket knife, a really neat wooden mallet (Probably will make one of those).

Does anyone have any idea why my threads recently have been messed up? All I'm doing with the videos is putting them as links around certain words.

 

Nice looking case! I have a wooden wine case I have been wanting to make into a small file server or something.

Mimsy, I love that one! I wrote a piece on it for one of my tech blogs, and had a heck of a time keeping it under the 350-word limit. Their whole house is amazing! :-D

 

The woodworking is amazing. The inclusion of an air filter in a computer case is interesting. I would have included more case fans, but the builder is in Canada where it may not get as hot. Also, there was a desire to lower the sound.
