They just re-open when you click on the reduced tab at bottom of screen. Some just wont restore size at all and I cant open them.

Logs attached apart from the mg zip as it keeps saying file failed to upload?

    Cheers:)

Try again using a different browser perhaps? It's the most important log.

Sorry if this isn't conventional but I've tried mozilla, explorer and chrome and it fails on each. So ive uploaded it to send space.
My laptop is almost crippled now. I can hardly navigate.

Re run Hitman Pro and have it remove all that it finds.

I am seeing both avg and sophos on this machine although I realise only sophos is actually installed. Which antivirus do you wish to stick with? Sophos? If so I can remove all avg remnants...

Id prefer to keep AVG if possible. Only because this is an ex work laptop and Sophos was a work application and Im not sure I can update it? Im not sure ive got the admin rights to remove Sophos properly either?
Im easy though, whatever you think is best I will go with.

    Uninstall Sophos using Revo Uninstaller.

Also use the avg removal utility as old remnants are still floating which might cause issue when you try to reinstall, so let's be neat.

Now please install your AVG from scratch and then do this so I can get a fresh look on things.

Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it. (Right click and run as admin if using Vista, Windows7 or Win8) Then attach the new C:\MGlogs.zip file that will be created by running this.

I did that and then on restart it disabled my internet and deleted a lot of my progs.
I did a system restore out of desparation but it just won't connect even though its showing as connected and the trouble shooter says connection is fine.
    Where next? its a mess.

    cheers

Then you must have made Revo delete something else OTHER than what was asked for. I think you should go to the software forum as there's too much going on to be able to check for malware removal. You may not even have a malware problem. You can always return here afterwards. :) Best of luck.

I definitely only deleted sophos. Did a restart, then deleted AVG.
When I restarted after AVG removal, using the tool you recommended it all went pearshaped!
Anyhow I have now fixed it by putting all the malaware progs on a USB and running them again in order as required.

Here is the MGlog again as requested.

Please disable all anti-virus and anti-spyware programs while we do the following (re-enable when you are finished):

Run C:\MGtools\analyse.exe by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator). This is really HijackThis (select Do a system scan only) and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:

    • O20 - AppInit_DLLs: C:\PROGRA~2\SearchProtect\SearchProtect\bin\SPVC32Loader.dll C:\PROGRA~2\Sophos\SOPHOS~1\SOPHOS~1.DLL

    After clicking Fix exit HJT.

    Download and run OTM.

Download OTM by Old Timer and save it to your Desktop.

    Code:
    :Files
    C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Sophos
    C:\ProgramData\Sophos

    :reg
    [-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchScopes\{006ee092-9658-4fd6-bd8e-a21a348e59f5}]
    [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchScopes\{006ee092-9658-4fd6-bd8e-a21a348e59f5}]

    :Commands
    [emptytemp]
    [Reboot]
    • Return to OTM, right click in the Paste List of Files/Folders to Move window (under the yellow bar) and choose Paste.
    • Push the large http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2782/4174320048_f01c448b32_o.png button.
    • OTM may ask to reboot the machine. Please do so if asked.
    • Copy everything in the Results window (under the green bar), and paste it into a text file to ATTACH into your next reply.

NOTE: If you are unable to copy/paste from this window (as will be the case if the machine was rebooted), open Notepad (Start->All Programs->Accessories->Notepad), click File->Open, in the File Name box enter *.log and press the Enter key, navigate to the C:\_OTM\MovedFiles folder, and open the newest .log file present, and attach the contents of that document back here in your next post.

Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it. (Right click and run as admin if using Vista, Windows7 or Win8) Then attach the new C:\MGlogs.zip file that will be created by running this.

Let me know of any problems you may have encountered with the above instructions and also let me know how things are running now!

If you are still having issues after this I may send you on to the software forum.

Sorry. ;) So used to seeing that zipped file.

So, sophos is gone, how are things running?

If things seem slow might I suggest a RAM upgrade:

Its labouring a lot and buffering a lot navigating through the net. Screens freeze then unfreeze, not responding at the top then it responds. Mouse is temperamental . Keeps turning itself off even though the light is still on underneath.

Which progs can i delete to improve freeing used memory space?

You can post about this in the software forum. ;)

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware.
    2. Renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it in step 4 of the READ & RUN ME.
    3. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis. If you don't see it or it will not uninstall, don't worry about it. Just move on to the next step.
    4. If running Vista, Win 7 or Win 8, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    5. Now goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click ( if running Vista, Win7, or Win 8 Right Click and Run As Administrator ) on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    6. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.

    7. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
