    Hi,

I set up a Yahoo seal that should appear when I am using a genuine Yahoo site.

If I connect to Yahoo Mail the seal does not appear. If I re-make the sign it appears, but the next time I login it has disappeared.
    I am enabled for cookies.
    I use Firefox.

I am sure that I am on a genuine Yahoo site because I type the address into the url.

    Advice please

Ps I use Avira and Malwarebytes - if it matters

That seal is persistent as long as the sign-in cookie is not deleted from the browser cache. The other possibility is security software or a browser extension blocking the cookie.
Under Firefox options -> Privacy tab, is 'Clear history when FF closes' checked? Is 'Remember my browsing and download history' unchecked?
Do you run CCleaner (or similar software) or have a FF extension that manages the browser cache?

    Thanks for responding

    Clear History is checked.
Remember my browsing & download history is checked (not unchecked).

    I have not run CCleaner.
I don't think I have an extension that manages the cache.

    Best wishes.

Click on the 'Settings...' button directly opposite 'Clear history when FF closes' and uncheck Cookies.
If that works, then go into CCleaner, select Options > Cookies, select the relevant cookie and press the '->' button to keep it.

    Thank you.

    It has worked.

Why did you mention browser history.

    Best wishes.

I'm pleased that you got the issue sorted. :)
I'm unsure of the context of your question. What is it that are wanting me to clarify?

'Under Firefox options -> Privacy tab, is 'Clear history when FF closes' checked? Is 'Remember my browsing and download history' unchecked?'

I am not sure of the significance of browsing and download history in relation to the missing seal.

    Best wishes.

Sorry, I should have worded that post more articulately.

    Firefox browsing history includes:
    • Browsing and download history
    • Cookies
    • Browser cache
    • Active Logins (any site that you are currently logged in)
    • Form and search history
    • Saved passwords
    • Site preferences
    • Offline data for websites

So to retain the cookie, FF needs to have 'Remember my browsing and download history' checked and either 'Clear history when FF closes' unchecked or as I instructed, uncheck Cookies from the history to be cleared settings.
I hope that clarifies things. :)
