Would you ever fly anywhere just to see a band(/singer)?

A year or two ago, I would have said 'no, that's stupid'.

Since then I have become totally obsessed with Poets of the Fall. Jeez, I love these guys...the music, their videos, their look...everything.

They don't ever come to the US, though. :( I've told my husband that if they ever do, I don't care where they are, if they aren't close, I'll fly to see them. :-D

I check their website every once in a while and they tour regularly...over in Europe. I swear it might get the point where I try to convince my husband we need to take a trip to Germany or Finland just so I can see them. :-D

    Omg...I'm pathetic. hehe

Since I've never been to a single music concert I'll have to go with no:-D I 'almost' went to watch Kings of Leon live but life intervened and I got so busy I completely forgot.

Instead I built a boat with my two brothers and went on the first weeks holiday I've been on since I was a teenager, we drove that boat every day, it was great.:)

I have go to a concert in my to do list this year.

Okay, well, I have to say that building a boat with your brothers and going on holiday certainly sounds like an incredible thing to do and most likely no concert in the world would be worth that. :)

BUT....if something like that didn't come along to thwart you (yes, I said thwart LOL), would you travel to see anyone?

Btw, concerts are a blast. Being near Philadelphia, we pretty much get every group who tours here so I've been to a bunch. I've never felt the need to travel before now though.

Apparently Muse are really good live, Coldplay,Kings of Leon, prolly foo fighters or Keane. I'd love to see any of them. Maybe even a Skrillex concert but I'm in my mid thirties now I may need some form of chemical supplementation to get me through 2 hours of hard dance music:-D

Since I live on an Island a couple of hundred miles across 'Uk' flying is reserved for escape attempts:-D Wouldn't leave the country just to see a band though.

It must be nice to have that kind of income. :cry

Technically, I already have. Last summer when I was planning my annual visit to Tahoe, I made sure it was while Paul Thorn was playing in Santa Cruz and we drove down for the weekend. And had I been able to afford a vacation this year, it turns out I could've seen him again, twice in one week. But I'm not sure if that counts, since I was already going to be flying there. I have more than once driven 3+ hours to see a concert, though (Detroit, Chicago, the aforementioned trip to Santa Cruz, Akron). We have an 11,000 seat arena (and I'm always working if there's a show), so if I want to see a huge band I have to travel elsewhere.

Same, I planned our trip to see the in-laws with Rush playing Orlando.. first time I traveled (out of state) to see a band.

I see what you mean after watching the firest Skrillex vid! :-D

I'd love to see Coldplay. I'm not sure why I haven't since they come here a lot. Maybe I'll look them up.

I haven't done it yet! And I was joking on the flying to Europe...mostly.

That definitely counts! I haven't traveled more than to Philly to see a concert.

lol...makes the in law visit better, I guess.

In my younger days if money had not been a deterrent I would of jumped at it. Now probably not so much.
