Kingston HyperX 3K SSD - Need some opinion

So I've got this Kingston HyperX 3K 120GB SSD yesterday which I was planning to use as my main OS drive (Linux Mint 17 64bit) but have been getting weird behaviour during setup like Mint not able to copy files to the drive.

From there I started suspecting the drive might be defective. After about 4 tries I managed to Install the OS and the rest of my stuff. 6hrs without an issue and the system simply *hangs*, I tried a reboot with Ctrl + Alt + Delete, nothing. A hard reboot was my last resort, couldn't even switch to virtual terminal either.

The weird part started here, after the reboot the OS didn't load so I loaded parted magic and checked the drive with GParted, for some reason the partitions were gone and the drive was completely empty like it wiped itself.

I'm new to SSD's and require a hand in understanding these SMART values (See the attachement). I know they differ a lot between drives. Just an opinion if I should be replacing it or not would help.

The "Raw read error rate" worries me the most.

    The rest of the system:

    Core i5 2400
    Gigabyte PA65-UD3-B3 Motherboard
    8GB DDR3 Ram (2x 4GB sticks)
    EVGA GTX 760 GPU

AHCI is activated and drive is plugged in the Sata3 port correctly.

    Hi

Your specs are fine and don't know what Linux will not load or install ok, I would try an version of Windows 7 or 8 to see if those install ok, only those as they are SSD ready.

I have installed http://www.ubuntu.com/ on many a SSD ok, no extra install instructions needed apart from USB boot from Motherboard.

Even if you can run Windows you may still have some drive problems. Windows and Unix don't address the SSD in exactly the same way.
If David's suggestions don't work you can try a different SATA port.
If that does not work you can get more aggressive with:
    1) Check your bios and run the SSD as IDE, AHCI is preferred but not as compatible
    2) Update the firmware
    3) Wipe the drive and be sure any bad parts are replaced with spares. This is rarely needed on a new drive.

I cloned my Win7 installation yesterday and have been using it for over 15 hours now in total with no issues at all (have Wiped the drive beforehand).

So far it has been fine, no errors, no voodoo messages coming up.

I'll keep testing and using it for now, if all goes well I'll mark the thread as solved.

Thanks for the tips, I'll check that link out as well. :)
