Display Driver Stopped Responding

I have updated my video driver and I keep getting the same message. I have search online and I am unable to find a solution to my problem.

Here are my specs:

Toshiba Satellite L505
Windows 7 Home Premium
Intel Pentium T4400
2.2GHZ 1MB L2 Cache

Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipshet Family

 

What is the message you're getting? Did you try rolling back to the previous version of the driver?

 

Error message reads "Display Driver Stopped Responding" it appears at the bottom right of my screen. This has been going on for month's. I installed window's 7 again and even formated my hard drive

 

What's the make and model of your graphics card?
Did the error message appear after Windows reinstall, prior to updating the driver? Or did it only start to display after updating the driver?

Windows 7 won't necessarily install the correct video driver for your setup. You need to go to your computer manufacturer's support site, put in the serial number (in the event it's a Dell, the Service Tag number) and go to the driver download section and get the correct driver for your particular computer/video card.

On my laptop, Win Vista installs an "NV4Disp" driver which works fine under Vista but, Win 7 installs that same driver and it DOESN'T work properly under Win 7. If your laptop originally shipped with Win 7, the manufacturer will have the correct driver. When you've obtained the correct driver, uninstall the current video driver in Device Manager, then install the one you just obtained.
