Printing documents that you access via remote access?

Just wondering, if I install Team Viewer on my laptop at home and my old pc at work (has XP on it), will I be able to print out on my printer at home, some of the documents I am accessing on the remote computer? My work pc has an automotive program Alldata with wiring diagrams etc for car repairs, and just wondering if I could access the info and print out a wiring diagram etc at home?

 

Disregard main question, for I was able to read up on how to enable remote printing. Now the problem is that after setting up the remote computer to use a local printer via Teamviewer..it doesn't actually print anything.

 

The remote computer has to have the drivers for your printer. If you own your workplace no problem. If you don't you would have to obtain permission.

 

I was under the impression, that those drivers were downloaded through the connection to the remote pc, so I simply just have to physically install the drivers on the remote system? That's not a problem, just thought it was done remotely. Thanks Earthling!

 

I think that is correct providing the machine with the printer attached has a driver suitable for the remote system. Seems in your case that's not so.

I find Teamviewer the most useful bit of software I've ever had, though I mostly use it in LAN only mode so I don't have to get off my backside to use a different computer here :-D

 

Printing to my local printer worked out fine, but in the case of me wanting to print something to the Foxit pdf reader..it didn't want to do that, so I used the remote pc to print the document to the pdf printer on that pc first, then used file transfer function of Teamviewer to bring that pdf file over to my local pc. Hoping these posts will be helpful to anyone else who wants to do this kind of thing.
