A couple days ago I went to a site and it asked if I wanted to install a program. I tried to close it and it installed files anyway. I immediately went and uninstalled any programs that were installed. Since then I've been getting ossminn popups all the time. I ran through the removal steps and it didn't make a difference. My logs are attached.

    Hello, Juggernaut118

Did you have problem creating the c:\MGlogs.zip? It contains a bunch of valuable logs to be reviewed.

    Where is your anti-virus protection?

I strongly recommend that you clean up this account's Desktop immediately leaving only links.[ C:\Users\Paul\Desktop
] Do not store downloads, exe files, iso files....etc on your Desktop. First it is not a safe place to keep them (i.e., you may loose them due to malware, and a cluttered Desktop is an easy hiding place for malware), and last but not least - it can have an effect on your PCs performance.

Move this directly onto your Desktop - C:\Downloads\MGtools.exe

Re-run RogueKiller and have it delete these:
    ¤¤¤ Registry Entries ¤¤¤
    [PUM.HomePage] (X64) HKEY_USERS\RK_Paul_ON_D_8109\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main | Start Page : http://search.conduit.com?SearchSource=10&ctid=CT3227982 -> FOUND

    [PUM.Proxy][FIREFX:Config] pmklfcyo.default : user_pref("network.proxy.type", 4); -> FOUND

Re-run HitmanPro and fix these items:
    • Malware remnants
    • Potential Unwanted Programs

    Uninstall this junkware:
    Coupon Printer for Windows
Internet Explorer Toolbar 4.7 by SweetPacks
    Java 7 Update 67 <= outdated

Please download AdwCleaner by Xplode and save to your Desktop.
    • Double click on AdwCleaner.exe to run the tool.
Vista/Windows 7/8 users right-click and select Run As Administrator
    • Click on the Scan button.
    • AdwCleaner will begin...be patient as the scan may take some time to complete.
    • After the scan has finished, click on the Report button...a logfile (AdwCleaner[R#].txt) will open in Notepad for review (where the largest value of # represents the most recent report).
    • The contents of the log file may be confusing. Unless you see a program name that you know should not be removed, don't worry about it. If you see an entry you want to keep, let me know about it.
    • Attach the logfile to your next next reply.
    • A copy of all logfiles are saved in the C:\AdwCleaner folder which was created when running the tool.

http://imageshack.us/a/img841/7292/thisisujrt.gif Now download Junkware Removal Tool to your desktop.
    • Shut down your protection software now to avoid potential conflicts.
    • Run the tool by double-clicking it. If you are using Windows Vista or Seven, right-mouse click it and select Run as Administrator.
    • The tool will open and start scanning your system.
    • Please be patient as this can take a while to complete depending on your system's specifications.
    • On completion, a log (JRT.txt) is saved to your desktop and will automatically open.
    • Attach the JRT.txt to your next message.

Re-run RogueKiller - do a scan ONLY and attach the new log.

Now install the current version of Sun Java from:
Make sure that when you install the new version of Java that you uncheck the Install the Ask Toolbar junkware checkbox. You do not want to add what most people consider malware to your PC. Also just in case Oracle changes the Java installation in the future to possible install other junk, uncheck all but just installing Java.

Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double-clicking on it. (Right click and run as admin if using Vista, Windows7 or Win8) Then attach the new C:\MGlogs.zip file that will be created by running this.

Thanks so much for the help.

I have windows defender. Is that not a good enough antivirus?

I cleaned up my desktop except for all the antimalware stuff.

When I ran RogueKiller I couldn't find this entry
    [PUP][FIREFX:Addon] pmklfcyo.default : SweetPacks Toolbar for Firefox [{EEE6C361-6118-11DC-9C72-001320C79847}] -> FOUND
Also, it said it successfully deleted entries but I still see them.

My HitmanPro trial period expired. Do I need to buy it?

I uninstalled everything but Internet Explorer Toolbar 4.7 by SweetPacks it said The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.

You're welcome. Windows Defender is okay, just didn't see it in my perusal. We'll use another tool to correct the HitmanPro detections. It IS good enough to purchase, by the way.

*You haven't yet un-installed the old Java 7 Update 67 which compromises your security.

Please download OTM by Old Timer and save it to your Desktop.
    • Run OTM.exe by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, Win7 or Win8, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator).
    • Copy the lines from the below codebox to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C
(or, after highlighting, right-click and choose Copy): Do not include the word Code: which is just a title line of
      the code box
    Code:

    • Return to OTM, right click in the Paste List of Files/Folders to Move window (under the yellow bar) and choose Paste.
    • Now click the large http://forums.majorgeeks.com/chaslang/images/MoveIt!.png button.
    • If OTM asks to reboot your computer, allow it to do so. The report should appear in Notepad after the reboot.
    • Close OTM.
Now navigate to the C:\_OTM\MovedFiles folder ( assuming your Windows drive is C). This is where your log will be
saved in the form of Date and Time mmddyyyy_hhmmss.log. Just look for the most recent .log file. Attach
this log file to your next message.

    Re-run AdwCleaner.exe

How is your pc running now?

Things are looking like they are back to normal. I'm not seeing anymore ossminn popups and I'm not noticing any other problems. Thanks a lot man. You just saved me a lot of time formatting and installing. Do I need to change all my passwords cancel credit cards or anything?

    :cool You're welcome!

I didn't anything more serious than junkware; but periodically it is good practice to change passwords from a known-to-be-clean computer.

Please copy the bold text below to notepad. Save it as fixme.reg to your desktop. Be sure the "Save as" type is set to "all files". Once you have saved it double-click it and allow it to merge with the registry.
Make sure that you tell me if you receive a success message about adding the above
to the registry. If you do not get a success message, it definitely did not work.

    * If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. It provides no "real-time" protection unless you purchase it and does not use any significant amount of resources ( except a little disk space ) until you run a scan.
    2. Go back to step 4 of the READ ME and re-enable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it.
    3. If running Vista or Win 7, it is time to make sure you have re-enabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    4. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    5. Go to the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    6. If we had you download any registry patches like fixme.reg or fixWLK.reg (or any others) and running MGclean.bat did not remove, you can delete these files now.
    7. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and/or deleted.
    8. If you are running Win 7, Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
      • Refer to the cleaning procedures pointed to by step 6 of the READ ME
for your Window version and see the instructions to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
      • Then reboot and Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.
    9. After doing the above, you should work through the below link:
