McAfee Removal Tool

I just got a new computer (and aside from the fact that I Hate windows 8.1 right now) it came with McAfee Live Safe pre-installed on it with a 1 year license. Well, the computer has only been up and running for under 2 days and I just want to figure out how to use the windows 8.1 (can't find anything - I want my start button back to find everything - including what came pre-installed on the computer) Anyway, back to the question...
I want to uninstall the McAfee Live Safe that came pre-installed and use a different anti-virus program and firewall program (still can't find that on here either!).

I found the McAfee Consumer Product Removal Tool 7.6.133.0
Do I just run that tool or do I do the uninstall from the control panel > programs and features list and then run this tool?

Start Menu 8 - The first time you click on it you will notice a bit of a lag before it opens. There are multiple Start Menu replacements out there and they all do the same thing when first clicked or first clicked after a restart of the system. Start Menu 8 is the best one I have found not to mention it's free. Many of the others aren't free.

 

Thanks for the link with the information on the correct steps to take to remove the McAfee LiveSafe that came preinstalled on that computer!

Also want to say Thanks for that link for a good start menu for windows 8! I have been looking and I did change the settings a bit so that I get the desktop now, but I really still could not find anything (I know that with time and practice I would get the hang of it - but I just don't have that kind of patience!). I really appreciate your suggestion for a good start menu that I can install.
