IE8 forever asking for permission for Adobe Flash Player to run.

..... and I am beginning to lose patience with it.

How can I grant permanent permission?

No, I can't upgrade, I have XP. (And I can't afford to upgrade that either.)

 

Was the Flash Player update automatic? You might try uninstalling it and doing a manual install.

As far as not being able to upgrade your OS, If you don't go online, you might be fine. But as long as you continue to go online in XP you'll become more and more vulnerable to exploits even if you only go to safe sites like MG's.

I don't know the specs on your computer but you may want to look into Vista. I paid $70 for mine on ebay and just this month, I paid $60 for 8.1 from the same place.

 

I don't know (can't remember) if it was automatically updated, but I shall uninstall it, re-install it and see what happens.

Go to Adobe Flash Player Settings Manager and select the Global Security Settings panel and set to your choice.

I think if you set that to Always Allow, you won't get all of those prompts.

Also, go to Control Panel and check the Flash Player settings and check
"Allow sites to save information on this computer"

 

After uninstalling and re-installing Flash Player, IE8 still displayed the notices.

I followed the advice given in the last post and it looks as if the problem is solved.

Was going to suggest checking to make sure the Flash Add-On is enabled in IE8...

 

I would definitely go with another browser, there are many to try. IE 8 is getting a little long in the tooth.
