hi, so i got guided in malware removal in ths thread http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=289620 . no malware detected, only adwares. however, after that, i got lags sometimes, and i got blue screen regularly. i don't know if this is related, but when my laptop was turning on, after the 'welcome' screen, my screen went black for a few seconds, and after that, my wallpaper showed up, and everything else. this has never occured in my laptop. but my concern is about the blue screen. how do i fix it?

    What does the BSOD say?

Also, which version of Windows (including Service Pack) are you running? Nothing about that is mentioned in your Malware thread. If the blue screen comes up only briefly and the computer restarts, some settings will need to be changed and how to do that is slightly different for XP or Vista or 8/8.1.

Two things I note: drive D isn't the usual location for the operating system and your free space has fallen below 15%. That can create problems.

i got no service pack installed, my laptop restarts after a few seconds after blue screen, so i can't read alot. drive D already almost full for almost a month now. i'm going to move some of its content. however the blue screens started to show up last week.

Can you go into Safe Mode (F8) with Networking? You need to change System Properties -> Advanced -> Startup and Recovery Settings by unchecking Automatically restart and uncheck Overwrite any existing file (there may be more than one cause for your blue screens).

Also, while in Safe Mode with Networking, navigate to the C:\WINDOWS\minidump folder and attach the .dmp file you find there as a ZIP archive to your next post. Some of us have debugging software and will be able to analyze the minidump file to see if it's software or hardware that caused it.

You can uncheck log files in CCleaner from the list of files to be cleaned. Some of us, like The Mekanic and myself, would rather you attached the .dmp file.

@JoeRay12 i'm downloading the service pack along with the other updates right now, but i'm having a bad internet connection, consider it done though. i've freed some space in the harddisk.

The dump from 12/21 shows a problem with an MBAM system file — more than likely the driver.

The dump from 12/30 shows exactly the same fault module.

The dump from 1/1/2015 @ 12:28 am shows a Win 7 driver fault for dwm.exe (I, unfortunately, don't know what that refers to).

The last dump shows a driver failure for your optical drive.

Hopefully, someone who's run across these errors can help you further.

It's exactly where you want to be ;) unless, you're noticing other problems you haven't told us about.

guys, there's something else... my avg sometimes send notifications of virus detection to my screen, but there's some notification, that the notification shows up, but with no text in it, nothing at all. only avg logo on the header and that's it. maybe there's a problem? maybe this is a different problem, but i suspect this is related to the blue screens..
