Problems

    I bought my wife a laptop when she tries to look at a web page a lot of the time it automatically goes up to 200%.

    Could you be more specific. Are you saying the page zoom goes to 200%?

    Which browser are you using?

    HP 15-f033wm Windows 8.1 with Bing. She is using touchpad. When she goes to email and moves the mouse sometimes it will zoom in to 200% and has to go to view and go back to100%. The mouse is hard to get to move too. she is using Windows internet explorer.

    Try another mouse just in case there is the problem with the one she is currently using.

    I don't think that leaves much room for doubt - he simply means the mouse pointer.

    The touchpad has edge swipe which changes settings.
    Could she be accidentally doing this to change the resolution?

    Try a different browser, Firefox is better than Chrome because IE and Chrome use the same basic engine, and see if this same behavior repeats.

    Three netbooks currently owned and before that we had 2 laptops. I've never used a touchpad. The first thing I do is attach a mouse.
