Ocean perch marinated in butter, lemon juice, and dill and then baked; sweet potato planks glazed with soy sauce, brown sugar, sweet sherry, and sesame oil (also baked); sauteed red and yellow bell pepper with mushrooms and green onions. (Approximately 14 g of fat on the plate :p )

Creamed tuna on toast tonight. In a nod toward healthy, I added some peas and used 12 whole grain bread and skim milk.

I got gifted a pound of ground venison last week, so tonight I made venison chili. :)

:drool Venison chili ROCKS! I'm jealous. I didn't go hunting this season (or the last few, actually) so I haven't had any for a while. I'd intended to go this year, but life decreed otherwise.

Supper tonight? I'm working, so it's some kind of microwave meal. Since it cost almost two dollars, you know it's good eating :-D

Savoury Tart, aka Quiche. This is a meal!

Made with Smoked Warthog Cheese Grillers, Bacon*, red onions, and cheese. Add garlic rolls, a green salad, and coffee.

*You can never have to much Bacon...

You had me until 'Smoked Warthog Cheese Grillers'. :-D What the heck?

I am making chili for dinner. I've been meaning to make it for a while. The cold weather is a good reason. :)

I had planned to create a new recipe tonight, but then I took a nap. LOL So we had leftovers: Baked marinated perch, glazed sweet potato planks, baby peas, and French-style green beans.

My brother-in-law does some hunting for the pot. My sister gave me the smoked warthog cheese grillers - some of the best cheese grillers I have eaten.
And for those who prefer healthy eating, warthog meat is healthier than pork from commercially farmed pigs. But, if you don't have warthogs in your country...:cry

I was having something of an attitude, so I pretty much phoned dinner in tonight. Frozen breaded broccoli and cheddar stuffed chicken breast, frozen broccoli in cheese sauce, and chicken & broccoli Pasta Roni. Whatever.

I forgot to take something out of the freezer to thaw so it was hamburgers tonight. Tomorrow it is going to be Chili. Maybe by Sunday the Chicken Breast will of thawed in the refrigerator enough to cook.

Ohhh tonight is for the steak lovers, really nice huge steak with peppercorn sauce, beer battered onion rings, with normal fries and sweet potato fries, peas and salad stuff, all served with a nice Merlot.

According to my mother, an English muffin spread with pumpkin butter, a huge mug of hot cocoa, and a banana is not dinner. However, it's what I ate when I finally got home from work tonight, so that's what I'm calling it.

When life gets very busy you grab what you can to eat and call it dinner and be thankful for it.:)

Tonight's dinner is Sirloin Tip Roast Beef, potatoes, carrots, onions, cooked in the crock pot in beef stock, cooking green beans in another crock pot, serving with brown gravy and rolls. :yum

Jerk chicken - tinned. (blow ya head off style) with taters. :drool (Yesterday)

Macaroni cheese (tinned) half a tomato and a piece of chunky bread and butter (wholemeal) (Tonight)

Tonight I'm heating up some of the alfredo chicken lasagna rolls (and putting the rest in the freezer), and I've got some fresh Brussels sprouts roasting (tossed with olive oil and garlic-pepper-salt seasoning). Probably I should make something else as well, but nothing is jumping out insisting we eat it.

Tonight's dinner was a great deal of Perrin Black, and some nachos. I've had 6 hours off in the last two days.

  34. Imandy Mann

    Imandy Mann MajorGeekolicious

6 hours in 2 days sounds scary. Do you drive to work? Do those kind of hours affect job performance? I know here in florida sleepy or tired driving is frowned upon by troopers! Please be careful!

  35. Sgt. Tibbs

    Sgt. Tibbs Ultra Geek

I don't drive, period. Yeah, we do get stupid, but much like anyone who works ridiculous hours you get used to it. Mostly the only thing that suffers from lack of sleep is our attitudes; the work still gets done with very few issues. We did 9am to 2am Tuesday, then 8am to 9:30pm Wednesday. Today was like a vacation! 11:30am to 2pm, then back from 5pm to about 9:30. LOL

And dinner tonight was an olive burger from a bar/restaurant around the corner from our arena, plus we split an order of cheddar-stuffed pretzel nuggets (with Mrs. Dog's mustard for dipping) and a plate of their homemade potato chips drizzled with malt vinegar.

Steak, baked potatoes, and not sure what else I will fix. I remember there was a discussion on cooking steak in a iron skillet and having good results over in the cooking thread a while back. So I am going to try that because the gas grill is covered with snow.:(
