FBI van 1 or FBI truck 1.

Any one else ever seen this.

Not really worried about it.But it is kinda like wow i have seen some of this info in the past about FBI in the wifi internet connection spots.

People name them that as a joke. If you do a search online, you'll see it a bunch of places. :)

    Welcome to MGs. :)

I will bet my next paycheck that not one of them is a police car driving around broadcasting a wifi hotspot.

@ wile e coyote someone is just trying to mess with you and it is not the FBI.
When I turn my wifi on the signal strength and the wifi name of about 6 or 7 of my neighbors are visible and all of them have boring names like ATT12345 or Netgear200 or such. Like Fred I name mine something strange just as a bit of humor.;)

I name mine FBISurveillanceVan. I had it named NSA before that. I just recently renamed it "Pretty Fly for a Wifi".

I had an infected system and set up a secure login on the router to work with it. I blocked all the others MAC addresses in the house to ensure no spread. I named it "VIRUS INFECTION" and then set it as open in the apartment building where I lived.

A joke as Laura said many may list their wifi as this also some that use mobile wifi can do this also so it looks as if its moving around, I have a Nokia 920 that can be used as a wifi router and I can name this in such a way.

Actually on a side note its fun to see what folk name their phones on bluetooth, especially on a train or in airports.

Back to the topic, the FBI, NSA or any 3 letter agency is not going to name their communications be that wifi, BT etc, as the agency's name or acronym, they are likely to use the same as default to blend in.

Looking at what I can connect to right now:

    TheVirusPit
    BTWifi-x
    SKY00000
    BTHub3-0000
    BT-With-Phon

I name mine weirdly and generally in a latin phrase, I know I'm a puzzle.

I have come to the conclusion that my neighbours suck. All the signals I can get here are named their defaults. Mine is simply called "Felix", but I'm trying to come up with something creatively original now. :-D
