    Dear All

Thanks for the welcome message. I do have a problem with my Lenovo Thinkpad laptop's c drive memory space. Its always full. Issue seems to be iTunes most of the time and Music.

I cant move iTunes to other folder cause if I do my iTunes dosent work.

I was reading your previous post of a similar problem posted by a very old member sachs in 2007. I did everything as they said and came to this space sniffer and the image s attached.

Can some one help me how I can move the large files shown in the image to a different drive and all the stuff still work. Please help.

    Many Thanks

    Abobba

Hi,abobba. Welcome to Major Geeks. :)

Unfortunately, your image didn't show up here. They usually want you to post images via attachment but, if for some reason you can't, post it inline in your next post via copy/paste.

Itunes is very persnickety about it's file locations. Someone more familiar with Itunes will have to help you with that.

But, you're right about getting files off of the "C" drive and on to another. A System disk that's too full (above 75% full) can lead to slowdowns and other unpleasantries.

    Thanks mdonah for your reply.

I cant make my attachment less than 97kb.. I feel thats too small any one can help me so that I can post my image. I cant even copy and paste as it is an jpeg image.

That's why I had to zip and attach it.

    Regards

    Dear All

Thanks for the welcome message. I do have a problem with my Lenovo Thinkpad laptop's c drive memory space. Its always full. Issue seems to be iTunes most of the time and space taken by its music and apps.

I tried to move iTunes to other folder but my iTunes dont work so reinstalled them and have c drive full issue.

I was reading your previous post of a similar problem posted by a very old member sachs in 2007. I did everything as they said in the thread and came to this procedure of using this space sniffer and followed that and came to know where the usage is high and now I need some one to help how to move it. the image of the space sniffer is attached.

Can some one help me how I can move the large files shown in the image to a different drive and all the stuff like itunes still work. Please help.

I took a look at your Spacesniffer image and the only thing I can suggest at this point is for you to purchase a larger "C" drive and clone your current "C" drive to it then use your current "C" drive for backup of your important data files.

I'm sure your Lenovo Thinkpad will support a higher capacity main drive than the 60 GB drive that's currently in it. My Dell Precision M70 came with an 80 GB main drive and XP Pro installed. I pulled the main drive and put it in a modular/media (optical) bay caddy and replaced it with a 120 GB main drive on which I installed Vista. This gave me more "breathing room" on my main drive. I've also got two external USB connected drives in enclosures — one I run Win 8.1 from and the other has all my data files.

As stated in my previous post, I'm not familiar with iTunes. I haven't used it in several years so, someone else will have to assist you with iTunes.

I was thinking to do an upgrade of the c drive for a while but after your reply I am pretty serious to do so. Thank u very much. Have a great day!

A bigger capacity HDD is the obvious solution. In the mean time you have some cleaning to do! The winsys folder is almost 11 GB. And Chrome is almost 0.5 GB. Download and install CCleaner. Leave the settings at default and run it. The link is for the portable version.

Then visit Microsoft and download the update for Windows' built-in Disc Cleaner. Here's the download with instructions how to use it.
FYI It will only work if you have SP1 for windows 7 installed.

Put your image on Dropbox or any other file sharing site and just post a link to the file.
I think I need to be convinced that your disk is only 60GB. Maybe it has been partitioned and there is another drive available. What other drives show in Computer? Also, could you post a pic of disk management? Start > right click Computer > Manage > Disk Management.

Something that's rather conspicuous to me in the Spacesniffer image is the lack of a System Volume Information folder. I would have recommended doing a disk cleanup and removing all but the latest restore point as the SVI folder can become quite large.

    @abobba,

    You're welcome. :)
