I inserted my Macrium Reflect rescue DVD but forgot to turn off AnyDVD beforehand

Would AnyDVD have any effect on the disc? Do I need to create a new one?

If the disk was CD-R or DVD-R or +R, AnyDVD would have no effect on the disk because these types of disks can't be erased or overwritten.

    No, it's a DVD-RW. Do I need to create a new one?

Pretty unlikely I would think, but can't be certain.

You might be interested to know that you can boot any bootable ISO, such as the Macrium Reflect bootable CD, without using a CD/DVD or even if you do not have an optical drive at all. It's hugely quicker than booting from CD and has exactly the same functionality as a CD other than those thankfully rare occasions when your machine can't boot for some reason. This is achieved by installing EasyBCD and simply pointing it to the ISO file on your hard disk. It will also manage a dual boot situation too.

Thanks. Is EasyBCD an easy program to set up? Looking through the description, it sounds like the setup might be kind of complex.

Yes, very easy. It finds your Windows installation automatically so that's the first item that goes on its boot menu. To add an iso to the boot menu only requires you to point to it in an Explorer window and give it a name.

    Thanks. I'll check it out.

    From the EASYBCD page:

"EasyBCD is a powerful bootloader-modification tool that has a wide-range of applications and usages. It can perform a variety of tasks ranging in complexity and application from the most basic to advanced and highly-customizable features.

Please use EasyBCD with care, it’s a powerful tool that you can either make your life a lot easier or make it rather miserable by letting you shoot yourself in the foot."

It's hardly the tool I would recommend to the OP particularly since his problem does not involve making a boot disk in general but foe Macrium in particular.

The OP is obviously enthusiastic and trying out different things - read her threads - and I threw this in because I believe EasyBCD is something that she may be interested in and find useful. For the simple task I'm suggesting none of that scary stuff has any relevance at all. Sounds to me like you don't have any personal experience of EasyBCD, maybe you should get some.

It's an excusable mistake with a name like Jesse - could go either way imo :-D

    Anyway, no offence intended.

:-D None taken. I'm gonna stick with the disc for now as the drive is literally about to totally collapse on me so I don't have time to experiment with anything new. But as soon as I get the new drive up and running, I'll check out EasyBCD. Thanks.
