And exactly how do you think you can progress other issues while in the middle of an OS transition to another drive? Suit yourself, I'm just asking you to focus on the issue at hand - and I don't intend getting into a debate about it.

Well I haven't started transitioning yet. I plan on getting my new drive installed tomorrow. Until then, I wanna sort out my other problems.

Your hard drive is creaking and the longer you continue to use it the less your chance of getting a good image across to your new drive. I'd like to help you with the transition and organisation of the new drive but I'm wondering whether it will be possible. I just don't have AtlBo's infinite patience.

What do you mean a good image? You mean the quality of the image can be affected by the quality of the drive? I thought the only risk was the drive becoming unusable before I manage to create the image. But if I have an image already, then the drive can go on breaking down without me having to worry about it, can't it?

Of course it can go on failing without affecting the present image but since any changes you make now will not be included in that image there isn't any point in making any other changes is there?

We have gone full circle - I'm leaving you to it.

I don't plan on making any other changes. I don't know why you thought that.

So what the hell did this mean? You don't have to answer - I've had quite enough.

I just meant I want to figure them out and understand what's causing them. If I know what's behind them, then I'll know what to do or not do when I get my new drive in.
