A pic would be great as we have a few gun aficionados on the forum who may help.

I think i said it was be for World war 1 i am thinking some where in the 1800s.

It is a Black powered One Shot pistol. With a CAP not a flint spark.

I am good a searching for info on computers but not guns.:confused

I can pin point it to a point then i am lost again.

I think it is closer to a Kentucky pistol make but not sure on that one.

crookedbandit got the idea but it is a still bit off.I have trouble in these types of areas.

The markings at the end of the barrel look like kill markings to me.

Can you see if there is rifling in the barrell? (groves spiraling inside.) The older ones were smoothbore guns. Rifling came along later and made them more accurate. https://duckduckgo.com/?q=pictures+of+barrel+rifling&t=opera&ia=images

Sometimes the markings are under the stock (grips). If you can remove the wood without damaging the gun, you might get some more info. Cool looking gun. If nobody knows here, I can give you a link to a forum with a bunch of folks that have extensive gun knowledge. I know mainly about modern firearms.

As far as i can tell there are no markings of any kind for maker on this gun.

    And the barrel is smooth.

Wow, well, if it is not a reproduction gun, that usually means it is older. I agree with nac4, you might want to consult an expert. I would not go to a pawn shop, unless you REALLY trust the owner. Maybe a gun club, gun range... I will copy your picture and send it to a friend of mine that is into older guns if you like.

Are the Older guns like in the 1800s heaver then the newer reproduction ones. This one i have seems to have a bit of wight to it.Due to the Steel barrel. And the wood seems to have some wight to it as well.

Maybe, but a good reproduction would copy the weight as well.
