Word 2003 spining cursor fix with 'MS Fix It' or... ?

1. When open Word2003 with Windows7, get a spinning cursor and very slow operation.
When look online, get something about printer setup, and after printing a W2003 document to .xps file, W2003 cursor etc works ok until close and reopen.
Some online support suggests downloading 'Microsoft Fix It' to "put Print Environment back to the way it was when the OS was installed".
Maybe another way to fix ?
2. When try to install MSFI, get error message something like 'Fix It Center Unable To Download Troubleshooters'.
Also looks like there is a 'full' and 'light' version of MSFI, but not sure which one am finding at http://ccm.net/download/download-14957-microsoft-fix-it, or where to find a different version.
Cant find any download info with 'MG Search' for 'microsoft fix it'.
Not even sure MSFI will do the job.

Ps:
Also have had some printing problems with printing web pages with' XPS Document Writer'. Did some 'printer clearing for FireFox (deleted printer info at prefs.js file) and seemed to fix.

Downloaded, installed as directed (went slow, with a hangup midway), tried to open but got script error message, clicked continue script, and when opened only showing red X's for inoperable menu (scnshts attached).
Thoughts ?

I had no problem downloading and running Microsoft Fix It.
I wouldn't waste time trying to fix what is supposed to fix the problem. I suspect the problem might be with the Print Spooler.
