tivo/netfix

I have google fiber, so my internet is fast, ~800+mbs
yet when I use netflix it still takes forever to load(like 1-2 minutes)
yet when I play it onj my computer,also plugged into 800mbs, it takes seconds

so do I need a new tivo? why does it take so long on my tivo to play?

is there a way to test how fast the connection is on my tivo?

If there are updates, the tivo downloads them automatically, daily.

I think the problem is my tivo 1-3 yrs old and my TV, which is 10yrs old
my friend has a newer tv(notivo) and although accessing netflix is not instant, like my computer, it takes seconds

newer tivos have a faster processor, I think that's the rate limiting point

yeah,I was talkng to my brother(who is a tech-geek, works at a TV station in california, constantly working on systems/etc cause he's good at that stuff) he told me my TV(Panasonic TH-50PX60U 50-Inch Plasma HDTV (2006 Model)) and my tivo(maybe 2010) are the issues even with Fiber
his GF has a n ewers TV, built in access to netflix without tivo and slower internet speeeds, yet watches netflix faster than I do
however, I can fast forward/rewind netflix faster than he can....I need a new TV...any thoughts on what tv to get?
