Unresponsive Script Error

I've been getting several "Unresponsive Script" errors that freeze websites / my browser and take a long time to recover from. Clicking on, "stop script", or "continue" does not help. I'm using the latest Firefox 41.0.2. The script error is happening over several websites, some are from sites that I visit occasionally and some are from those that I have stumbled upon.

To give one recent example, I was checking out some news articles at http://www.msn.com/en-ca?checklang=1 when the error box displayed. (Attached below).

How can I fix this (in dummy terms, please)?

It's most likely a problem script on the site that you're accessing.
Have you tried accessing the problem pages with another browser (IE, Chrome etc)
I use the Ublock Origin extension on my FF based browser, which can work as an adblocker or in advanced mode as a content blocker. With this I can open the developer tools, track down the troublesome script and block it. (Note: I don't expect you to try this).

If the problem is present in another browser, all you can really do is wait until things are sorted at their (the websites) end.

 

I tried both FF and IE just now with one of the websites that I'm having issues with, here's my results:

Firefox:
- script error
- freezes browser
- car advertisement video that appears within the page doesn't load, it quickly displays a "player load error", then the small box fades to black.

IE:
- no script errors
- smooth browser
- car advertisement video plays

I had the script error problem with Facebook a few days ago, but it has since cleared up.
I may check out the Ublock Origin extension to use as an adblocker.
