Can anyone tell me why this window is opening up on start up ?

It's never happened before, started about 2 days ago.
I can remove the Ralink files through control panel but I'm not sure if I need them.

If I do need them, that's ok, but how do I stop this window from opening ?

    Thanks.

I removed the Ralink files but then we lost internet access so it looks like we do need them after all.
I took it back to the last restore point so it's all working again now but that window is still opening on start up.

It doesn't do anything, it's my DD's PC and it's just annoying her.

You don't need that for internet access.
Type msconfig in search (on the Start Menu). Click it and then click the Startup tab. Uncheck anything related to RaUI Application or Ralink Wireless Utility. If you're not sure, take a screenshot and post it. Click Apply and OK. Restart your PC.

What operating system is on the PC?
The shortcut to the program is likely in the Startup folder.
If the PC has a regular start menu (pre Windows 8)
    • Open the start menu->All Programs->Startup.
    Otherwise navigate to either
    • C:\Users\[User Name]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
      or
    • C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
If the shortcut to Raui.exe is in there, right click on the shortcut and select properties.
Look for where it says 'Run:' and change the setting to 'Minimized'.

If you have a Ralink wireless modem/router, you will need those files. Look in the application's settings and change the startup type.
You should be able to choose between Don't Start, Start Normally, Start Minimized.

Thanks guys ........... no more window.

Minimizing it didn't do anything but unchecking the box in msconfig seems to have done the trick.

Thanks again for your help, much appreciated.
