Why would you do that to perfectly good coffee?

 

Drain some sliced canned peaches and place into a fairly flat bowl or container.
Cover them with peach brandy then seal the bowl or container with cling film.
Put them in the fridge overnight or all day (needs at least 4 hours but longer is better).
Serve either hot, nuke each serving in the microwave then place a scoop of good quality rich vanilla ice cream on top
or cold with a scoop of good quality rich vanilla ice cream
and if you like drizzle some of the juice over the ice cream.

Who's the fruit cake?

 

Hotty Toddy ...Good for what sore throat, colds, and cough.
1 oz (2 tablespoons) bourbon
1 tablespoon honey
2 teaspoons lemon juice
1/4 cup boiling-hot water

Lesson to be learned.
Don't send the wife to buy brandy for her fruitcake... and then post about it in The Lounge.

 

On a real side - I have had brandied fruit from several different families that keep it all year long and once started more can be made by taking some from the original batch and starting in another decanter. It's good by itself or over ice cream and maybe even with fruitcake. Different recipies are around for different fruits and brandies. Seem to remember one with a yeast starter that fermented itself. Good stuff!

OMG - love peach brandy - mix it with orange juice over ice! Also, if you make a Christmas ham, mix some in with the glaze and brush it on....btw, will last for years, even opened...
