    No.
New Year's Resolutions are like politicians' promises... They are never kept.

    Edit:
    It's 31 December 2015!
    Happy New Year Everybody!

Happy New Year! I don't do resolutions. Instead, I sit down and look at the last year and come up with the highlights of good things that happened. It's a recap of the (minimum) of three positives I find every day. Works for me!

Happy new year to all! I think for some it is coming soon. :)

I'm just happy to have my girls home from school and to be spending tomorrow night out at a nice dinner with some friends. The best part of that is that its a 7pm reservation and I get to go home and be in bed for the ball dropping. :D

No resolutions for me either. I think the best change is the change you decide you need and start immediately. New years resolutions are like that whole thing that you do when you say 'I'll start Monday'. Never works.

Anybody doing the old New Years good Luck black eyed peas and greens tradition or is that mostly a southern thing?

You are really going to explain that one too me as that's way way west and southern for me. Random thought is that where the band "black eyed peas" got their name from.

OK David. Eating black-eyed peas, greens and cornbread on New Year’s is suppose to bring you good luck through out the year.
Old expressions, “Eat poor on New Year's, and eat fat the rest of the year.” “Peas for pennies, greens for dollars, and cornbread for gold.”
Some people go as far as to put a penny in the pot of beans as they cook. lol
I personally do not like either black eyed peas or greens. So none being cooked in this house.

    Hi Kat

Ahhh I see, did do a little research on the meaning just now and I see on New Years day you are supposed to eat 365 of them for good luck all year round, and now you mention "peas penny" that reminds me of something my grandmother used to say at new year, didnt have dollars or cornbread in the saying as we are in UK so it would have been different words.

You and me both on black eyed peas and me for most pulses and a hell of a lot of greens. New Years Eve Chinese food for me.

I can eat raw greens in a salad but cooked greens I do not eat.

For us (being in the Northeast), it's pork that is good luck. We do pork on New Years day. :)
