The only seagulls I regularly see are if we get take out fish and chips and go to some beachside park or to the end of a nearby jetty to eat them. The second you unwrap the paper it is like the seagull calling sound. Sometimes there are flocks of 30+ birds and if you want to start a fight just toss one chip into the middle of the group of seagulls and watch them go Sometimes if there is a seagull flying he will swoop down and catch it out of the air before it reaches the others and then he just flies off to enjoy it in private.
Years ago when we used to go regularly down to the Rosebud jetty (or beach) there was always one small seagull that had lost a leg so I always tried to make sure it got a couple of chips and I didn't allow the bigger birds to take them

 

...which they use to catch fish!
