From everything I've seen even though the Rams have sunk into mediocrity ever since they won the Super Bowl long ago, St. Louis wants to keep the Rams badly. Although St. Louis is the same town that lost their Cardinals to Phoenix. The Cardinals were in Chicago though at first for 39 years. While the Chargers started out in LA in 1960 and moved to San Diego after that. While the Raiders did move to LA once but moved back to Oakland after that. LOL. I still like to call them the LA Raiders. LOL None the less one of these teams is suspected to move to LA this year. Question is which team will it be?

Do you think that possible that two of the team may share a stadium? I've read in some articles that the Raiders and Chargers may share??

The Jets and Giants share a stadium. I get the feeling 2 of the 3 teams mentioned in this thread must be very desperate to relocate if they wound up sharing a stadium. It's still gotta be easier for football teams than baseball teams to share a stadium though.

Will St Louis Rams have to change their name back to LA Rams as they are kinda a bit of a distance from Missouri now?

That's usually how it goes. They either take the name of the new city, or sometimes they adopt a new name entirely.

Thanks Beth for the answer, I'd have a peoples poll to come up with a new name.

Now that the Rams have moved back to Los Angeles - that should be the end of it. There is no need to place another team in a city which could not keep one NFL team several years ago. Keep the Raiders in Oakland and the Chargers in San Diego. Los Angeles does not deserve TWO NFL teams.

Not that I'm from St. Louis or ever lived there or near it but I being a die hard St. Louis Cardinal fan understand how STL along with Green Bay are the best sports cities in America. Therefore St. Louis is more than worthy of another NFL team. In the meantime I'll have fun watching the Rams fail in La La Land.

Yeah, it varies. When the Minneapolis Lakers moved they became the Los Angeles Lakers. When the Seattle Super Sonics moved, they became the Oklahoma city Thunder.

And Los Angeles already has two NBA teams. If there is a large enough market, there is no reason they can't fit two NFL teams in there as well. The city of New York has already done it for their major sports.

La La Land is a running joke when it comes to housing a NFL team. Just ask the Rams and Raiders. The funny thing is a tiny town not even 1/1oth La Land's size has had nothing but success with their NFL team for almost 100 years now. Football just wasn't meant to be in La La Land dude.

In SA we have provincial and regional Rugby, Cricket & Soccer teams. And other sports.
They cannot be "bought" by other provinces or cities.

The love of money... never mind.

Yeah but I would assume they can move to other cities if the going gets tough. That's what usually happens here in the half ass country of La America.

    No they can't.

Are the teams there under private ownership or are they under government ownership? Here in the USA, all our football teams besides the Green Bay Packers are under private ownership.

I am a little embarrassed to say I had to think about that.
Club teams (the bigger the city, the more the clubs) are privately owned. But, apart from club soccer, their owners don't make millions.
Provincial teams aren't 'owned' by individuals. They are managed by unions and do receive money from the government. And the chairman, president, and other senior managers do make a lot of money. They are business people, they are not there for 'The Love of the Game'.

Clubs do change ownership, but they stay in the same city/town.
And provincial teams do buy players from other provinces, even other countries.

Here in America teams receive plenty of dollars from government too. It's basically just government investing in these teams. In the case of the St. Louis Rams I believe the 2 governments of St. Louis and Los Angeles were competing with each other. The pay off can be big for each city in the form of tax revenue. The funny thing is both St. Louis and Los Angeles lost 2 professional football teams. Well one of the teams Los Angeles lost is the Rams, who are now coming back to Los Angeles now after all these years.
