This thread pertains to the following computer:

    Lenovo ThinkCentre
    machine type: 5042
    model number: A7U
Processors: ACPI x64-based PC with 4 AMD Athlon II X4 640 Processors 3.00 GHz
RAM: 4.00 GB (3.75 GB usable)
    System type: 64-bit OS

    Windows edition: Windows 7 Professional
    Update Versions: 11.0.26 (KB3104002)

I'm NOT experiencing any problems at the moment, but following a suggestion by LauraR in our conversation "Profile post", I have followed the instructions in the Malware Removal Guide and attached the resultant logs herewith.

I forgot to mention, in case it matters, that when I was running MGtools, Avira blocked access to the HOSTS file. Don't ask me what the HOSTS file is. That's just what Avira said. MGtools just said "Access is denied."

If you had CryptoWall, you would know it. All I see to do is rerun Hitman and remove the PUP's.

Tim, after a discussion I had with the OP via PM, I suggested they run a full scan. Their other computer had cryptowall and they got a suspicious email from a 'user' from Major Geeks. I think the title of this thread is probably misleading as I don't think they were showing any signs of Cryptowall, but rather showed some threats after doing a MBAM scan.

MBAM just found a few PUP's. Nothing serious to worry about. Otherwise he is clean.

Mgtools did not run properly possibly because you did not disable Avira.

OK, I reran Hitman, had it remove all PUPs, and rebooted. Thanks SO MUCH to both TimW and LauraR for your help.

But what caused me to start this thread in the first place was that "LunnaH" was trolling MG and joined just to spam me when she read my original thread about Cryptowall, and that really made me paranoid.

But I stand by my conjecture: ransomware criminals could be infiltrating computer forums to use the forums' high credibility in order to stalk and lure victims.

So I should now just delete all logs about these latest scans and all specialized software downloaded to perform these scans, right?

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware.
    2. Renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it in step 4 of the READ & RUN ME.
    3. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis. If you don't see it or it will not uninstall, don't worry about it.

Just move on to the next step.
    4. If running Vista, Win 7 or Win 8 or 10, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:

      \MGtools\enableUAC.reg
file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    5. Now goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click ( if running Vista, Win7, or

Win 8 Right Click and Run As Administrator ) on this file to run this cleanup program

that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    6. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    7. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:

    OK, I've done steps 1-5.

But just for the record, and I don't know why this happened, but when I tried, as part of this process, to download TDSSKiller either from the author's website or from MG, in both cases what got downloaded was a file named "TDSSKiller" with no filename extension, that could not be extracted either as is or after having a ZIP extension appended to its filename. Luckily, I still had an old copy of TDSSKiller.exe, and when I ran it, it allowed me to download the latest version of the ZIP file. So I downloaded that, extracted it, and ran the TDSSKiller.exe so obtained. So I'm hesitant about now deleting TDSSKiller.zip or TDSSKiller.exe. Any comments or suggestions?
