Tonight, when I rebooted, IObit Uninstaller updated itself and, without asking permission, installed IObit Advanced SystemCare 9. I am not amused by its presumption. Yes, I can uninstall it, but c'mon, this from the makers of Uninstaller? Whu'dya think, should I uninstall Uninstaller? Would you? DID you?

I uninstalled it. I had to go through Microsoft.com because it wouldn't go away even when I was in safe mode. I used MSuninstaller program, and haven't had any more problems.

IObit Uninstaller is a good and often recommended program.
Disabled the Startup entry - you don't need the program to start with Windows.
Also, you can turn off Automatic Updates and manually check for updates, then you'll see any offerings from IObit.

It did ask for permission, you just missed the prechecked check box. Iobit will miss no opportunity to foist ASC onto your computer. Personally I wouldn't touch it with a bargepole as it earned the distinction of being the only bit of software that had ever brought my Win 7 to its knees.

Shades of Kafka's "The Trial". And who knows what they really do to your computer when they're "helping you" get them out of your hair...
Agreed. I don't really want to get rid of IT, as opposed to SystemCare.
Easier said than done. As you can see by these two IObit Uninstaller Startup screens, neither Uninstaller or SystemCare appears in the list of programs in the startup menu, whether under 'I', 'S' or 'U' (see IObit startup not under I.jpg and IObit startup not under S or U.jpg). And I don't see them in MSConfig > Startup either (see msconfig startup 1.jpg and msconfig startup 2.jpg).
I couldn't see how to do that in IObit Uninstaller.
There seems to be a coterie of enthusiasts here who will oft avow this, yet I say thee nay.

Nope, never saw that. I'm telling you, it did it on bootup without me subsequently touching the computer. If that doesn't conform to your experience of this software's behavior, I don't know what to tell you. I saw what I saw.

I've been called many things but never an Iobit enthusiast before . I can't be doing with their sneaky, deceptive and underhand way of promoting their software. I use Geek Uninstaller.

    For goodness sake!
Click on Enable and then click Disable.
And why on earth do you have all those Startup entries? RealPlayer, Apple (???), Adobe, etc.

I meant COMPUTER enthusiasts. And I hear you about IObit's underhanded stratagems - maybe I should give Geek Uninstaller a try.
Enabled and Disabled are only there for PROGRAMS that are there. That's why I sent the screenshots - to show that they're NOT there.
Damn good question. That was never my intention. That's just the way they installed. And that was gonna be my next question - which of these can I remove from the Startup menu? I mean, a lot of them are obvious - but some of them I don't even know what they are, and I don't want to go breaking anything.

Check IObit Uninstaller's Settings. At the top right of the window, click the 4th icon from the right.
Then they are starting as services that run in the background. On the Start menu, type services in search and click Services next to the gear icon. Then you can set those services' startup type to Manual - they'll start when needed.
Start by looking at the Apple, Adobe & RealNetworks entries' descriptions. Disable 2 or 3 at a time, restart and open those programs to check if any behaviour/funtion has changed.
FYI In your third image I see Advanced SystemCare 9.
