I understand how music keeps progressing and progressing but hip hop sounds so totally different now than it did over 30 years ago when you had a DJ behind the turntable scratching his records back and forth and back and forth. It's a shame all the newbys don't cut that sound anymore. :( Too bad there's no more RUN DMC or Beastie Boys to capitalize on it.

My only guess is they don't use that acronym in South Africa. I've heard it from day one here in Estados Unidos.

I've lived in the US my entire life, and I have never heard of that acronym.

If you watch enough cop shows you'll probably hear them issue a APB which is a radio message sent to every officer in a police force giving details of a suspected criminal or stolen vehicle.

I agree that "Hip Hop" and "RAP" is nowhere like the days it was created and where the best in the RUN DMC days! the likes of Kanye West and "all day, all day, all day, all day, all day, all day, all day, all day, all day, all day, all day, all day, all day, all day, all day, all day, all day, all day, all day, all day, all day, all day, all day" is not music.

Kinda loving watching RUNs House over the years.

So true, RUN DMC and some others wasted no time to bust their rhymes hard, accompanied by the scratching sounds of the turntable. Funny thing is the first hip hop record I bought back in the early 80's didn't even have any rhymes in it. I wasn't even aware that it was hip hop then. All I knew is it sounded quite different at the time. Only college radio stations were playing this then.

I know and agree when you now listen to the 80s hiphop etc the lyrics are awesome, not like the crud of today not to say that there are not great artists like Lil Wayne, Drake and Tori Lanez to name a few I know of. I just love Rev RUN.

    But you cannot beat

I totally agree, I like some of the newer artists today too but it really seems to catch my ears when they come close to going back to busting it the old school way. Even though I don't hear no scratching from the turntable or percussion coming from guys like the Human Beat Box
