If they have the specific Windows 10 graphics driver for your friend's specific computer and specific graphics "card", yes. Windows 10 is what she's running.

Yes just making sure. I am downloading them and then we delete drivers on device manger and then install these. Hope this will fix it . Thank you are awesome!

Okay I uninstalled the old Graphic cards and tried reinstalling the other ones. They extracted but then it did not after that. What the heck! I went back to device manager and they are not showing up? I will restart the computer and see if they are there or not. Weird.

Well, I guess you'll have to roll back to Windows 8.1. Unfortunately, there are some computers that simply aren't Windows 10 compatible. My Dell Precision M70 (my 32-bit laptop that I was updating last night) isn't BECAUSE of it's graphics card. nVidia hadn't updated the drivers for it in years.

I managed to find a Windows 7 driver for it that gave me back my maximum resolution but the Windows 10 OS was doggedly slow. So, I installed Windows 8.1 instead and like I stated earlier, I'm satisfied with the "default" graphics driver Windows 8.1 installed.

Did you want the information for the Media Creation Tool?

Well I did a factory reset and now it shuts down when I try to connect with the internet. Argh

Why did you do that? Windows 10 has a way to go back to the previous version of Windows using the "windows.old" folder that was created during the upgrade to Windows 10.

I don't know what to tell you now except that there's also a media creation tool for Windows 8.1. You could create an ISO using that and re-install Windows 8.1 Core x64 but, you'd have to re-install all of the drivers from Toshiba and any other software your friend had.

Her computer uses UEFI (the replacement for BIOS) which would have to have settings modified to allow booting from the DVD drive.

Special partitions were created at the factory too: System Reserved, Recovery (possibly Toshiba Recovery) which she'd more than likely lose.

Oh, boy. I think you've opened a can of worms.

Sorry I thought that was doing a clean install. I got it all working. However it has the same issue with streaming and lagging. I think personally it is a harddrive issue. On the 8.1 you can go back to factory reset which is nice. But the problem is not solved. Even windows 8.1 has the same problems as 10. I think I remember this issue before she upgraded.

Can you tell us which software she has installed. It could be a software issue. If it was a hard drive issue, EVERYTHING would be affected.

Also include any anti-virus, anti-malware in the list. I think she's got something installed with real-time and/or surfing protection turned on and it's scanning everything before it reaches the computer and THAT'S causing the lag in page loads and video streaming.

When we updated before she never put anything on this computer yet outside of, AVG, Power shell, Mozzilla. The only problem I am having at the moment is I cannot update now for some reason since updating it. It keeps giving me error codes. Do you know how to fix this so I can update it? Thanks for bearing with me.:)

    Hi

Can you post all error codes that you get as those give a clue as to the likely cause?
Uninstall AVG for now in case that's the cause.
Does Safe Mode with networking work ok at all?

Powershell? does she script/code and use Powershell to push out network configurations at all? where any scripts used after the install of Powershell?

I agree with DavidGP and I DO think AVG is causing the slowdowns.

Good news!! I was able to get updates to finally work, do not ask. lol I am however wanting to see how I can get the computer from freezing all the time. What do I mean? Both browsers are slow to open and then freezes off and on when doing tasks like going from one site to another. Also when I try to type, it freezes or is slow to the responding when tying. It does that wtih the system as well. If I go to control pannel it will freeze for a few seconds. I did dust it out so that is not the problem. Thanks

Just in case anyone is there ran a hard drive test the hard drive is a 100% good so that is not the issue.

I don't know if Avast is the problem but, the only anti-virus I run in Windows 7, 8.1 and 10 is Windows Defender. I also run Windows Firewall. Windows Defender Definitions are updated at least twice/day and it has real-time protection.

Well it seems to be running great right now. I have updated everything. I have done some investigation online and am getting some fixes. So that is good. I am trying to make sure no more freezes occur.

When you get things where you want them could you post your solution(s) back here for the benefit of others?

    Hi

WOW superb perseverance and glad you have most things going ok, thing is while some apps like AVG/AVAST etc may work with one PC they dont always work well with others, depends on the PC spec and with the likes of AVAST I would have custom installed and dumped many of the modules it installs, you dont need many of them apart from Web Shield, Network Shield, and Standard Shield as it has others that would on a PC be scanned part of the Standard shield anyways as in Email. The more you have running in the background the more PC resources that are used.

Do review all startups as many are not needed but installed as default such as updaters for Adobe, Printers, iTunes and various apps, get rid of them all as you can update from inside the app when you run it, or use something like Secunia PSI

Ok great thanks for the tip.. Yes I did a factory reset so I do not have many things loaded on here. I did disable some things that were running in startups. With Toshiba it has like the function key not sure what that is. Also other Toshiba things in startup Can you tell me how important they are if I list them? Toshiba system settings, Toshiba App Place,

The Fn or Function Key is used with other keys that have double labels on them. If you press the Fn key along with a double label key, it performs the function of the lower label. My Dell Latitude E6400 has the Fn and double label keys.
