    Re run Hitman Pro and have it remove everything it finds except this, it looks like something you need:

    • C:\Users\Veerle\MediaFire\copie basis van U\Vonac\Welbevinden op school

    Fix items using RogueKiller.

    Double-click RogueKiller.exe to run. (Vista/7/8 right-click and select Run as Administrator)
    When it opens, press the Scan button
    Now click the Registry tab and locate these detections:

    • [PUP] (X86) HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\SearchKnow -> Gevonden
    • [PUP] (X86) HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Uniblue -> Gevonden
    • [Suspicious.Path] (X64) HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\iscFlash (\??\C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\7zS9E8C.tmp\iscflashx64.sys) -> Gevonden
    • [PUP|VT.Unknown] (X64) HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Service Mgr SearchKnow ("C:\ProgramData\9a4b8b26-f4e0-4529-a5b4-93ec828f7e42\plugincontainer.exe") -> Gevonden
    • [Suspicious.Path] (X64) HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\ControlSet001\Services\iscFlash (\??\C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\7zS9E8C.tmp\iscflashx64.sys) -> Gevonden
    • [PUP|VT.Unknown] (X64) HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\ControlSet001\Services\Service Mgr SearchKnow ("C:\ProgramData\9a4b8b26-f4e0-4529-a5b4-93ec828f7e42\plugincontainer.exe") -> Gevonden
    • [PUM.HomePage] (X64) HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main | Start Page : http://searchinterneat-a.akamaihd.n...cBA9IQlYFIk0FA1ADB0VXfVBdFElXTwhwJVhKAlE6T1pU -> Gevonden

    Place a checkmark next to each of these items, leave the others unchecked.
    Now press the Delete button.

    ...Same for these entries on the file/folder tab:

    • [PUP][Bestand] C:\ProgramData\9a4b8b26-f4e0-4529-a5b4-93ec828f7e42\plugincontainer.exe -> Gevonden
    • [PUP][Bestand] C:\ProgramData\9a4b8b26-f4e0-4529-a5b4-93ec828f7e42\plugins\2\Plugin.exe -> Gevonden

    • [PUP][Bestand] C:\ProgramData\9a4b8b26-f4e0-4529-a5b4-93ec828f7e42\plugins\7\Plugin.exe -> Gevonden
    • [PUP][Bestand] C:\ProgramData\9a4b8b26-f4e0-4529-a5b4-93ec828f7e42\plugins\8\Plugin.exe -> Gevonden

    ...and finally, same for this entry on the web browsers tab:

    When it is finished, there will be a log on your desktop called: RKreport[2].txt
    Attach RKreport[2].txt to your next message. (How to attach)
    Reboot the machine.

    Copy the bold text below to notepad. Save it as fixME.reg to your desktop. Be sure the "Save as" type is set to "all files" Once you have saved it double click it and allow it to merge with the registry.

    Make sure that you tell me if you receive a success message about adding the above
    to the registry. If you do not get a success message, it definitely did not work.

    Now re run RogueKiller again and upload fresh log.
    Same for Hitman Pro.

    Please download the latest version of Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your desktop.

    Note: Make sure you download the correct version for your PC. Only the correct version will work.
    • Double-click to run it. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
    • Press Scan button.
    • It will make a log (FRST.txt) in the same directory the tool is run. Please attach it to your next reply.
    • The first time the tool is run, it makes also another log (Addition.txt). Please attach it to your reply.

    Run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it. (Right click and run as admin if using Vista, Windows7 or Win8) Then attach the new C:\MGlogs.zip file that will be created by running this.

    Hello,
    I ran the whole procedure as you described.
    With Rogue Killer, I couldn't find all the detections you listed; I also couldn't find tabs with file/folder, only one list...
    When I used Rogue Killer, this page opened in Firefox: http://www.adlice.com/pum-removal/

    All the rest went smoothly, also the adding to the registry.

    You find all the logs in attachment (in this message and in the next one).

    Thanks again for your time and effort!

    NOTE: This script was written specifically for this user for use on this particular computer. Running this on another machine may cause damage to your operating system.
    Download Fixlist.txt

    Save fixlist.txt on your Desktop. Make sure you save it as a txt file.

    • You should now have both fixlist.txt and FRST64.exe on your Desktop.
    • Now I want you to disconnect your PC connection to the internet by unplugging the cable ( if it is wireless then temporarily shutdown the wireless network ).
    • Run FRST64.exe by right clicking on it and selecting Run As Adminstrator
    • Click the Fix button just once and wait.
    • Your computer should reboot after the fix runs.
    • Reconnect your internet connection after reboot so you can come back here to continue.
    • The tool will make a log on the Desktop (Fixlog.txt) please attach this new log to your next reply (attach or paste)
    Then attach the below log:
    • Fixlog.txt
    Also at this point, I want to double check the status of things by having you run another scan with FRST like in my last message and attach the new FRST.txt and Addition.txt logs.

    Also do this:

    Download Cleano 1.31

    Download it to your desktop, Right click the cleano.exe file and run as admin > and place check marks in the boxes as follows (click on link below to see image)

    View attachment 148092
    Click clean now and exit the program.

    Run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it. (Right click and run as admin if using Vista, Windows7 or Win8) Then attach the new C:\MGlogs.zip file that will be created by running this.
    Let me know how things are running!

    I did everything you advised and everything went fine.
    I forgot to tell you that everytime I run MGTools, somewhere halfway a pop-up opens; the title is something with 'hijack this' or so. I always click 'decline' or 'reject'; I certainly don't click 'accept'. But I don't know if I am doing the right thing...

    In attachment you find all the logs.

    Thanks again for helping me out!! B-)

    You should indeed click accept, and will probably have to click the accept button twice (due to a glitch) all you will be doing is agreeing to the use of it.

    How are things running?

    I see this remaining:
    CHR Extension: (Search Know) - C:\Users\Veerle\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Extensions\mfkfbklpoabgkacneifbmddjaaffickm [2016-04-05] [UpdateUrl: hxxp://cdn.searchitknow.com/update] <==== AANDACHT

    Hi,
    Sorry I respond so late, but I was very busy at my job.
    Adding the fixME.reg was succesfull.
    To be sure, I re-ran MGTools and now clicked 'accept'. You can find the log in attachment.

    I checked the places where I encountered Search Know before: as addon in Firefox, in my list of programs (if you want to remove a program), in the list of processes when I click ctrl-alt-delete. Now, I saw search know nowhere. So it looks good!

    Thanks again!!

    Hi,
    Your last post was a little bit confusing: do you want me to run FRST64 twice? I did it twice, in between I rebooted my laptop. This didn't go automatically; I had to do it myself.
    In attachment you find only the logs of the second time I ran FRST64. Apparently, the program overwrites previous logs instead of saving all of them...
    I first donwloaded fixlist.txt but is it correct that I didn't have to do anything with that?

    Thanks!!

    Oh sorry; I mixed up 'fix' and 'scan'. That happens when you go to bed way too late ;-)
    Now I did it right and you find in attachment the logs you asked :)

    Well it's saying not found but it still shows in the log....
    Can you open up Google Chrome and look in the extensions and add ons for Search Know and let me know if you see it or not. If so remove it. Reboot and SCAN with FRST again and upload new log.

    Hi,
    I normally don't work with CHrome but with Firefox, so it was a bit of a search to find the extensions. There was nog extension reffering to Search Know. I couldn't find a tab or page with add ons...

    Do you see this:

    When you use Chrome do you see any signs of SearchKnow?

  25. VeerleWauters

    VeerleWauters Private E-2

    Not on first sight... Also in Firefox. And the pop-up of SearchKnow is not appearing anymore.

  26. Kestrel13!

    Kestrel13! Super Malware Fighter - Major Dilemma Staff Member

    Could you elaborate on that? I think we ought to be backing up your bookmarks in Chrome and doing a complete uninstall and reinstall. But let me know first what you mean by what you said.

  27. VeerleWauters

    VeerleWauters Private E-2

    I very rarely use Chrome (only to work with google play books). So I don't know if it is important to go further in Chrome.
    About the pop-up: some time ago, when I first asked about SearchKnow, I frequently saw a pop-up that mentioned there was a problem with SearchKnow. It's been some time now since I've seen it, so I thin that is completely solved. This both happened in Firefox only, I think. I can't remember that it happened in Chrome...

    That's good to hear! :)

    If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware.
    2. Renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it in step 4 of the READ & RUN ME.
    3. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis. If you don't see it or it will not uninstall, don't worry about it. Just move on to the next step.
    4. If running Vista, Win 7 or Win 8, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    5. Now goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click ( if running Vista, Win7, or Win 8 Right Click and Run As Administrator ) on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    6. If we had you download any registry patches like fixme.reg or fixWLK.reg (or any others) and running MGclean.bat did not remove them, you can delete these files now.
    7. If you are running Win 8, Win 7, Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below to flush restore points:
      • Refer to the instructions for your WIndows version in this link: Disable And Enable System Restore
      • What we want you to do is to first disable System Restore to flush restore points some of which could be infected.
      • Then we want you to Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.
    8. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:

    Thank you so much!
    This was a long process that I could never have done without you!
    Thanks a lot!! And I hope I won't need your help too soon :)
