I did not suggest that's what Pauling says or said.
Neither am I. I posted a link to what a Professor at the Linus Pauling Institute said.

then why did you quote what LPI says?
or rather you didnt, you said it and gave a link

yeah ? nature made food is always a good option
that's just not how most Americans are eating!

unless, they are and they are just getting obese on broccoli

yesterday, I had a hankering for some paste and too late to want to make it myself. so Io was at the store and look at CANNED paste
(I get a case of bionature organic tomato sause bimonthly

but I was HUNGRY and wanted pasta
all the pasta either had meatballs and/or the sause was tomatoes and CHEESE

    WTF?

so I skipped and had a bag of fruit(pinapople/peaches/bannas with salt and eggwhites and called it a day

My comment on 20 grams a day was based on your first post of " a few hundred milligrams ever hour".

I don't care if normal healthy people eat all the vitamin c they want. Or any other vitamin, mineral, supplement they choose to eat.

A few hundred milligrams ever hour gets to be on the 'gram' scale pretty quick.

Now may I ask you to stop with the aggressive and abusive manner. I assumed this thread of yours was for a two way discussion and not 'agree with me or you're an idiot'. Sadly it is the 'I know best' attitude that permeates a lot of comment in complementary medicine that puts people off and drives them back to a pill prescribing doctor.

no idea what you are talking about
and calling me names? LOLZ tryig again to make up for your lack of material/knowledge by getting emotional?

why must you AGAIN, give a naked link without telling me what to get from that link?
you think i Have time to read the books you give me and guess what your point is?
make your point, use a link to show/cite your information I DONT HAVE TIME TO GUESS WHAT YOU ARE TRYING TO SAY

you arent giving any useful information in this thread

yes, a 2 way street, sure, but you realize I have a 2 time nobel prize winner on my side, (linus pauling) and other MDs like ;Dr levy.suzanne humphries, even Mercola and hordes of ancedotal evidence of people who have reversered CAD with paulings therapy
plus the sciennce.MOA of how pauling therapy works

and I"ve given yuo links to their books/easy to watch videos, which you have not read/watched
yeah, I am right, so? Im willing to listen to other information, but you arent giving that well, you are still stuck on "you dont need that much vit C" even though I've explained why you do
    half life-
    gets used up
    -stress
-look at the guinea pig study, that says enough, when they only variable that is changed is giving them vit C! without it, they get CAD

I have neither the time nor inclination to read links to try to figure out what you are trying to say
you are obviously emotional about this and debaters don't get emotional

I can"t control other people's emotions or what offends them, if my posts drive someone to overeat, well, I can't control that nor do I care too.

eh? me good luck? I dont need luck, I'm sharing stuff I know and little 3yo is telling, me, "no, no no, I dont know anything, bur ur wrong"
LOLZ yeah, the adult acts like he is right, cos he is right

again,I still don't know wtf you are talking about ... Is English not your 1st language?

    "last word of abuse"?

go look at post that has the survey that tells you can avoid most causes of mortality by not being fat
then look around(least in USA) and you'll see tons of people who are fat
do you think they know being fat is not healthy and going to lead to more cancer/higher mortality than not being fat?
people know stuff, they just dont do it
it's always "How can I get a job?" and not "How can I become the type of person employers want?" It's "How can I get pretty girls to like me?" instead of "How can I become the type of person that pretty girls like?" See, because that second one could very well require giving up many of your favorite hobbies and paying more attention to your appearance, and God knows what else. You might even have to change your personality.

"But why can't I find someone who just likes me for me?" you ask. The answer is because humans need things. The victim is bleeding, and all you can do is look down and complain that there aren't more gunshot wounds that just fix themselves?

    good summmary of PT
Pauling Therapy for the Reversal of Heart Disease
    1. Vitamin C: to bowel tolerance – as much as you can take without diarrhea. For most people this will be in the range of five to ten grams (5,000-10,000 mg.) each day. Spread this amount into two equal doses 12 hours apart. (Vitamin C prevents further cracking of the blood vessel wall – the beginning of the disease.)
    2. L-Proline: 3 grams twice per day (acts to release lipoprotein(a) from plaque formation and prevent further deposition of same).
    3. L-Lysine: 3 grams twice each day (acts to release lipoprotein(a) from plaque formation and prevent further deposition of same).
    4. Co-enzyme Q10: 90-180 mg. twice per day (strengthens the heart muscle).
    5. L-Carnitine: 3 grams twice per day (also strengthens the heart muscle).
    6. Niacin: Decreases production of lipoprotein(a) in the liver. Inositol hexanicotinate is a form of niacin which gives less of a problem with flushing and therefore allows for larger therapeutic doses. Begin with 250 mg. at lunch, 500 mg. at dinner and 500 mg. at bedtime the first day; then increase gradually over a few days until you reach four grams per day, or the highest dose under four grams you can tolerate. Be sure to ask your doctor for liver enzyme level tests every two months or less to be sure your liver is able to handle the dose you are taking.
    7. Vitamin E: 800-2400 IU per day. (Inhibits proliferation of smooth muscle cells in the walls of arteries undergoing the atherosclerotic changes
    http://nutritionreview.org/2013/04/collagen-connection/
Collagen Melts Plaque, Keeps Arteries Open
In addition to taking vitamin C to prevent atherosclerosis, Pauling recommended a combination of vitamin C and the amino acids lysine and proline to help remove existing plaque while strengthening weak and damaged arteries. As mentioned previously, the body produces collagen from lysine and proline. Pauling reasoned that by increasing concentrations of lysine and proline in the blood, Lp(a) molecules would bind with the free lysine, rather than with the lysine strands exposed by the cracks in blood vessels.

Re-read what you posted below. It's not only completely unrelated to what I said about the dangers of being 'skinny', it's actually total mumbo jumbo.
Vitamin C is good and essential but Linus Pauling did NOT get his Nobel Prize for anything remotely connected with the use of Vitamin C. The Mayo Clinic revisited Paulings studies - in the use of high dose Vit C in CANCER patients - and found errors (that in general research are called 'faults') relating to the Vit C group and the 'Control' group, and found Pauling had used people at the EARLY stages of cancer in the Vit C group, who were NOT classified as 'terminal', whereas all in the 'Control' group were officially and independently diagnosed as 'terminal'. It was a similar piece of diversion used in the clinical trials of the drug 'AZT' both in the USA and Europe which - until exposed by people like Dr Joseph Sonnabend in the USA and Brian Dear in the UK - ending up killing about 80,000 people DEAD.
Your posts are sharing stuff you actually know nothing about and don't even remotely understand, and you garnish that with infantile teenage offensiveness. Let's put it this way, I wouldn't buy a second hand car from you, or vitamins either!

    go back and re-read
I never said pauling got his nobels for vit C
You don't adequately explain wtf you are talking about being skinny mumbo jumbo,,what are you trying to say.
I don't talk about vit C fighting anything by CAD, that's the MOA i know about, I'm not posting anything about Vit C fighting cancer, so you have not read that from me and are going way off topic, you are setting up a strawman only so you can knock it down, why? cause the topic I talk about vit C/CAD you can't fight cause I'm right
post i share? I merely parrot information, which is why I say something and post X so you can see where it came from
you arent reading or maybe you read but don't comphrend.,
I can help you with that, that's a personal problem.

if you had a comment about why Pauling therapy is wrong to fight CAD, and you can't clearly restate it, ok, ;)
otherwise, I'm going to believe pauling is correct over someone on the internet claiming otherwise and cant articulate his thoughts

Your post are not clear, in fact, they are so UNCLEAR, you cannot even articulate why you disagree with Linus Pauling
none of this is my work, I'm just parroting what's worked for many other people and why the cholestrol theory of what causes CAD isnt quite right,
What I parrot helps many other people.

not sure why i am entering the lion's den here, but the title said "health stuff", so here are my personal observations, while basically ignoring all prior posts so far...

like a couple of people in this thread, i smoke, and i am a moderate ( about a pack a day ) smoker of indonesian kretek cigarettes for close to 40 years. and i made an agreement with myself, very early, that i will smoke till the day i die. it's just something i enjoy and has nothing to do with addiction, though no one understands that since it is burned into our collective subconscious that it is an evil addiction.

to me, wellness and optimal health is just as much a state of mind as it is physical. it is different for each individual, and what works for one person might not have any effect on another person. some how, you have to figure out what your body needs and no one else can definitively tell you what that is. guidelines are just that, guidelines, a starting point that you need to adapt and adjust over time.

between my brothers and sisters, i have been bombarded, over the years, with all kinds of helpful health tips, from supplements to take, alternative therapies, homeopathic medicines, and the evils of drinking ordinary fruit juice ( go figure that one ).

what i decided to do, for me, is to seek out supplements and therapies that are described as "supporting and maintaining the general health and well being of one's body". there are so many different systems in the body, and they all have to work together if one is to achieve any semblance of wellness and optimal health, and that is a life long personal journey that only you can take. sure you can get guidance along the way, but it's still your choice, your journey. i've tried to listen to my body over the years, and adjust accordingly, and i rarely, if ever, discuss what i take with anyone, since i tend not to follow the guidelines, and i don't want my brothers and sisters in my face telling me that i'm nuts and doing it all wrong, because, from my point of view, it has worked out well.

    toodles
    harmless

not sure what you are suggesting here?
the problem with drinking fruit juice, is simple. its sugar and lacks fiber
Liquids tend to digest quickly (although fluids with protein and fat, such as milk, digest much more like food) and carbohydrate only drinks such as soda don’t release as many of the appetite blunting peptides during digestion as whole food (or milk which is a liquid whole food).

This makes the consumption of sugary drinks (fruit juice or soda) a major problem. People don’t compensate for intake and end up simply adding the massive amount of calories to their diet, which is often bad to begin with.

and then the "freshly squzzed juice" can be over a year old
"Ever wonder why every carton of natural, healthy, 100 per0cent, not-from-concentrate orange juice manages to taste exactly the same, yet ever so slightly different depending on the brand, despite containing no additives or preservatives whatsoever?

The process indeed starts with the oranges being squeezed, but that's the first and last normal step in the process. The juice is then immediately sealed in giant holding tanks and all the oxygen is removed. That allows the liquid to keep without spoiling for up to a year. That's why they can distribute it year-round, even when oranges aren't in season."

the biggest guideline you can follow is
    DONT BE FAT
    low bodyfat, is best
