I believe I have a virus, I had a strange pop up telling me I had a virus and to call Cox my net provider. I called them not using the number the pop up said to use. They said it sounded like I had a virus. I ran MBAM pro, CC cleaner, McAfee, and Hitman and Rogue Killer. The only one that picked anything up was Rogue Killer. Hitman picked up 38 traces. I decided I needed to run through your malware removal cycle.
My question I already have Malywarebytes Pro on my computer and you say to download it and rename it. Do I need to uninstall my pro and then download again? Same with CC Cleaner?

I am at the point in the removal process where I am downloading the programs.
    I have a Dell Desktop running Win 10, 64bit, Core i56400, 8gig Ram, 5 months old.
Please advise what to do about the programs I already have downloaded. Thank you.

No, just use the versions you have. As long as they are up to date with version and database. :)

Thank you! :) I am going to try to clean the computer now. I want to do that before paying bills and going into my bank account :) Hopefully , I got the problem, however, something is still not right.

OK, I have run all the programs. I think I messed up by running certain programs before I decided to come here and use your system. RogueKiller found 2 Trojans, however, they are not in the history had deleted the program. I could not get MGTOOLS to work. It kept going into a cycle of no access allowed and then it cycle back to permissions and then back in a cycle. I had to shut down the computer to make it stop C/A/D would not stop it , it would not let me stop the process.

I am attaching the files, however, I don't think you are going to find much. However , the system is still wonky, as shown in the files above. My system keeps resetting. Pages show up looking weird. Computer is very slow. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanks

Try running MGTools.exe again this time ensuring UAC is indeed disabled, that protection software is turned off and that you are running it 'as admin'

I did all of those thing when I tried to run it. It is in the C directory and there are files from 3 years ago when I had a virus, however, it will not let me run it.
I have to leave for a few days to babysit my grandsons. So, I will be back Monday night and try it one more time. When I click on the program it does not give me the option how to run it. My account is the admin account I do not have a separate admin account they are both the same. :( Any suggestions besides the ones you already made how to get MG Tools to work? The desktop does not work. It's in my C/files in two places. Sigh. However, when I open it, it does not work. I have tried in both accounts to get it to run.

So you were trying to run an older MGTools from years ago? If so, download it from fresh and try again! If it is *not* old then try this instead:

Please download the latest version of Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your desktop.

Note: Make sure you download the correct version for your PC. Only the correct version will work.
    • Double-click to run it. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
    • Press Scan button.
    • It will make a log (FRST.txt) in the same directory the tool is run. Please attach it to your next reply.
    • The first time the tool is run, it makes also another log (Addition.txt). Please attach it to your reply.
