Upon rebooting the computer after 3-5 minutes we get a runtime error for an unknown program located in c:\prog...

Trying to run Maleware Bytes in admin or standard mode yeild the program to open in 2-3 minutes and when hitting scan it sends the program to an endless loop and crashes. Dialog pops up with this progrma failed to response click close to close...

This is where I am at!

And yes i am trying to run through the run and read me first however the computer keeps locking up on any scan.

UPDATE: IE will close itself when loaded. Trying to run online scan with Chrome.

I have been trying to get Malware bytes to sacn however it sets an error when trying to scan and force closes the application.

I have tried to have Hitman 64 complete a scan, however both times it locked up the system completely.

Attached are the logs that I could perform

I have literally been trying to fix this computer all day, it seems that disabling startup options allows it to run smoother, however it is still not there yet.

Malware bytes was uninstalled and reinstalled to enable real time protection as a trial and it still doesn't open properly. THe only think I can think of is the window updates that were autoinstalled on July 13th as the cause because the morning of July 13th is when these issues first arises. I am going to try and uninstall the window updates that were installed overnight on the 13th.

NOTE: This script was written specifically for this user for use on this particular computer. Running this on another machine may cause damage to your operating system.
    Download Fixlist.txt

Save fixlist.txt on your Desktop. Make sure you save it as a txt file.

    • You should now have both fixlist.txt and FRST64.exe on your Desktop.
    • Now I want you to disconnect your PC connection to the internet by unplugging the cable ( if it is wireless then temporarily shutdown the wireless network ).
    • Run FRST64.exe by right clicking on it and selecting Run As Adminstrator
    • Click the Fix button just once and wait.
    • Your computer should reboot after the fix runs.
    • Reconnect your internet connection after reboot so you can come back here to continue.
    • The tool will make a log on the Desktop (Fixlog.txt) please attach this new log to your next reply (attach or paste)
    Then attach the below log:

      • Fixlog.txt

Are you now able to run other programs at this point such as Malware Bytes, Hitman and RogueKiller?

Will do, thanks for responding so quickly.

I am on a second computer so the infected ones stays offline during this entire process, jumping back and forth with a flash drive.

At this time I am not able to run additional scans as it locks up when attempting to run Malwarebytes

Can you now run FRST and upload the log please.

    • Double-click to run it. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
    • Press Scan button.
    • It will make a log (FRST.txt) in the same directory the tool is run. Please attach it to your next reply.
    • The first time the tool is run, it makes also another log (Addition.txt). Please attach it to your reply.

Does the computer lock up when attempting to run Hitman Pro and RogueKiller?

    Ok here is my re-cap:run

FRST: Upon loading, found an update, and crashed. I disconnected from Internet, downloaded newest version from a different PC. Upon running the scan it froze mid-way. Re-stareted and log is attached.

RogueKiller: Upon attempting to install it i get a runtime error: at -1:0 cannont importdll, ran cc cleaner to clean out temp files, still not working.

Maleware Bytes: Upon opening it froze and force closes. Attempted to remove and re-install same thing happens.

    You said:

What is this exact word for word error?

  17. Nikone

    Nikone Private E-2

The error is caused by DYMO LabelPrinter software not locating a file C:\Prog... it doesn't tell you what file, and i went into msconfig and disabled it from loading, no more error.

Cameleon scan with Maleware Bytes always freezes on the file named: c:\windows\syswow64\API-MS-WIN-DOWNLEVEL-VERSION-L1-1-0.DLL

Re-enabling normal startup, and the error has not poped up yet.

EDIT: Error appears again, image attached.

Furthermore under normal boot anything I attempt to run/do/load/install is lagging for 2-4 minutes from the time the command is initiated, that's why I switched to selective startup and didn't let everything load. Normal startup has 75+ process selective I was able to get it down to about 35-40.

Can Malware Bytes and RogueKiller be run now that you are in normal start up mode again? You said it lags, but do you let it run/follow thru, and see what happens?

    Not a malware issue...

Nothing has changed from this point.

EDIT: I uninstalle dthe windows updates like my original idea was to do and the computer is working just fine.

I am able to run Maleware Bytes, roge killer and any other software with ease.

    Oh that's awesome!! :)

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware.
    2. Renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it in step 4 of the READ & RUN ME.
    3. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis. If you don't see it or it will not uninstall, don't worry about it. Just move on to the next step.
    4. If running Vista, Win 7 or Win 8, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    5. Now goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click ( if running Vista, Win7, or Win 8 Right Click and Run As Administrator ) on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    6. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.

    7. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
