Anyone Still Use An Mp3 Player ( Other Than Using A Smartphone)?

I still use a dedicated mp3 player , however mine compared to what is available now is inconvenient.

    I have a sandisk sansa e260

For example i must use sandisks converting software for most of the mp3 files to play and always for mp4 files to play. This is inconvenient and doesn't always work so i can't play some of my songs even when converting them.

7+ years ago it wasn't too much of an issues because smartphones were all that popular however, now i just want to use an mp3 player that i can drag and drop my mp3/mp4 without any conversion needed ( and that also has a micro sd slot).

I thought of buying a chinese random unit but i opted agaisn't it because well even though i have this inconvience with the sansa e260 the fact is the battery on this thing is still good after a decade... it still gets about a 3.5-4 hr music playtime.

So given the reliabiliy of my previous sandisk mp3 i was going to go with a sandisk sport model, however i am not sure if these too use a conversion gibberish.

If anyone can recommend something small i would greatly appreciate it, i would prefer a name brand for reliability but also not looking to spend a crazy amount ( maybe $30 usd tops).

I have a Sansa Clip Zip that I love. I bought it to replace the Clip +, that in turn replaced the Clip. I use the Clip Zip with MediaMonkey, and also with Audible to load eBooks to the player, so no proprietary software needed.

Set the Clip Zip to USB mode and you will be able to drag and drop easily, and as an extra bonus, it as a microSDHC slot as well.

I don't have a smart phone and don't need one.I just have plane old Android phone.

I will not pay 100 + dollars for a phone.

All i need a phone to do is dial and pick up and play music on the SD card that's it for me.If i had a choose i would rather just get rid of them all together.

iTunes for me, although it does suck at times. Once you get into the Apple way of doing things it works well.
My car radios can play from USB drives and I set up the music in folders with iTunes. Last sale at Fry's had 256GB USB drives for $25. There is an incredible amount of music on this tiny drive, bought one for the truck and one for the car.
As far as more than $100 dollars for a phone, saying "Siri, Take me to In and Out Burger" is priceless on the motorcycle. I have Clear (helmet speakers and mic) with a blue tooth connection to my iPhone. Late for lunch with my son? "Siri, call my son". All voice, no touch.

Mine is a 2nd generation iPod Nano, so I say it counts. :D It's so old I can't change the music that's on it any more, so I just listen to whatever it is. I'll never keep music on my phone... the iPod gives me about 16 hours of listening without a recharge, whereas my phone, even with its fabulous battery, would die much sooner leaving me without a phone.
