Is The Internet Slow Lately?

or is it my machines?

 

I've had very patchy internet for the last 2 days but we have had some very heavy rain and bad storms over the last week causing some serious flooding and I just assumed this was causing problems on the network. Yesterday we lost all power in our area 5 times during the day and when it came back for the 4th time the resulting voltage spike killed my 3kw APC online UPS and the then 5th time killed a 28TB NAS
Not too happy as storm damage over here is often classed as an act of god and insurance companies make it difficult to claim

 

terrible -what were those worth?

 

My internet is DSL. My speed is controlled by the number of people "on line."
So I've been told.

 

Nearly AU$7000 for both and late today just discovered the 65" Hisense TV in the front room is also dead and I haven't had the heart to check replacement cost yet

The number of your ISP's subscribers online and the number of users visiting the same websites are just 2 of the factors determining how 'fast' your online experience is.

 

Weather can some times effect your ISP cable lines.
