Old And Dead Websites We Used To Use

    Going through my bookmarks list and OMG what crap I saved over the years and use AM Deadlink to scan for dead or changed bookmarks now as easier to narrow the field down.

    But came across sites I used to love reading tech info when I had the time, so wondered what dead sites did you all love reading that are no longer with us.

    Tweakfiles is a given for me, but Majorgeeks just is version 2.0+
    downloadsquad.com - sold out to Huff Post
    Winguides - now PCTools and owned by Symantec
    pureperformance.com - great tweaking site
    puppypc.com - was a great tweaking site, now taken over and tweaks actual puppies!

    puppypc.com I had to Google that one just out of curiosity. :p I had never heard of it.

    AltaVista was one of the first sites I found on the internet when I got my first computer.

    No tears shed here for the extinction AOL's no frills messenger. On the other hand Yahoo really screwed up by replacing their instant messenger with a cheap, simple, no frills messenger. They're headed on the same route as AOL now. In fact I just heard how Verizon is having 2nd thoughts about buying Yahoo.
