So after the 'new tab opening in Firefox each time I open a text file in Malware Removal forum' seemed to disappear all on it's own, I now have a new issue pop up. (The Gremlins Lurvvve me :D )

I am a moderator in the malware removal forum so obviously can make all sorts of changes, well, one of my radio button has now gone awol and I can no longer edit/delete my own posts..../ what gives?? :D

Another thing that happens sometimes too, if you have an ad blocker, or script blocker running, they can sometimes add something that will also remove buttons like that for some reason.

I did a fresh install over the top.
Yes indeed the culprit here must be ABP which I have and use.
Just disabled it on MG's and no, the 'upload a file' button is still hidden. BUT I can still use it.

At this point, I think something might be wrong with Firefox's Flash. The upload button uses flash and I have no problem with it on my end on Google Chrome.

I have Flash set for Ask to activate here on Pale Moon, no Flash on right-click of the Upload button, Page Info shows http://forums.majorgeeks.com/js/swfupload/Flash/swfupload.swf as greyed out = inactive. I can still upload.

Try setting Flash to ask to Activate and see if the native uploader works.

Someone I helped in the malware forum who also uses Firefox cannot see the upload a file button.

Any other similarities from the logs, FF/Flash versions, extensions/Add-ons, OS version + recent Updates, AV, ... ?

Emma, I am able to replicate the issue at will. If Flash is blocked, the "Upload a File" button displays okay. If Flash is allowed for the page, the
button disappears. I usually run Flash with "Ask to Activate", so I always have the Flash icon displayed just to the right of the "Go back one page" arrow. Cycling Flash on and off, along with some page refreshing led me to see I could turn the button display on and off. Maybe this will work for you, too.:)

    Hi StruldBrug :)

When I click that flash icon it says it's "allowed for majorgeeks"

So if you want to see the upload button, you need to block flash. Seems counter-intuitive but as StruldBrug discovered

I have done a similar exercise as StruldBrug.
Whether Flash is activated or not, the Upload a File button shows.
It's important to mention I am using Mozilla Firefox 45.0.1 and Shockwave Flash 22.0.0.192.
Therefore, the problem is either with the version of Firefox or Flash that you are using.

Thx Eldon for the version input.:) Mine are FF 49.0.2 and SF 23.0.0.185
So, the issue gets more complex.

I just upgraded SF to 23.0.0.205 a few moments ago. Now, the button displays, allowed or blocked. Switching from Allow to Block puts a grey
block over the button, but a "Reload current page" clears the grey block and the Upload display is normal.o_O:D
